Hi Ellen, You must be Hugh Williams Granddaughter. Was your Father also named Hugh? Eunice has not been gone that long has she? Eunice never married or had any children did she? I know she must have some nieces and nephews living in my area but I do not know who her brother Robert married or any of his children. Do you have that information? Yes, I am the granddaughter of Hugh Lee Wiliams, Sr., and my father's name was Hugh Lee Williams, Jr. I do have pictures and information that would help you out, I think. Adaline (Stonecipher) McCartt lived with David & Delia Williams, since their marriage in 1898, until her death in 1925, due to pneumonia. {I do have a copy of a photo of Adaline about the age of 69 years} Delia Ellen McCartt had a brother named Samuel. In 1916 he was living in Walton, Kentucky, and worked for the railroad. Don't think I have any other information on him. Delia was born Sept. 11, 1878 at Crooked Fork, Morgan County, TN., to Doc & Adaline (Stonecipher) McCartt. David Henery Williams was born October 13, 1871 near Deer Lodge, Morgan County, TN. and died on December 31, 1947, at Homes Hospital, Cincinnati, Oh. of carcinomatosis (cancer in every part of his body simultaneously) at the age of 76 years. He is buried in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, Ky., Section 17, Lot 307. David was the son of John (Jack) and Eliza (Crenshaw) Williams. They had 13 sons and no daughters. (I have a photo of 10 of the brothers, including David) Delia Ellen McCartt Williams died April 9, 1974, at home, 1215 Highway Ave., Covinton, KY, of a heart attack, following a stroke. She was 95 years old. (She also had cancer, but did not die of the cancer) She is also buried in Highland Cemetery next to David. Delia and David were married on October 9th, 1898 at Liberty, TN. They had three children. Robert Herschel Williams born July 20, 1899 at Wartburg, TN. He died March 21, 1992 at Baptist Nursing Home, at age 92. He is also buried in Highland Cemetery. (have copy of photo) His wife Gladys Neville Williams died 11/24/1990, in the home of Eunice Williams, at the age of 85. She is buried in Allison Park, PA. I do know that they were living in California when they needed medical care and Eunice asked them both to come live with her so she could take care of them both. She was true to her word and nursed them both until their deaths. Eunice was very devoted to her brother, and to her nephew, David, their only child. (have a copy of photo of David) Eunice Eliza Williams born March 16, 1902, at Wartburg, TN. Eunice died 01/18/2001 a Woodcrest Nursing Home in Fort Mitchell, KY, at the age of 98+. I think that I could write a book on Eunice. She was such a wonderful and interesting person until her death. Her nephew described her as rational, coherent and enchanting till her death. I think that he and his wife cared her as much as she cared for them. At the age of 98, Dec. 21, 2000, Eunice slipped on the ice on her front porch and broke her left hip. She had a partial lip replacement and was undergoing Re-Hab. Her dearest wish, she told me, was to live in the home that her father had built until her death with out the aid of a caretaker. On or about the 17th of Jan, 2001, she was told that her return to the home was probably not ever going to happen. And on Jan 18th she had an apparent heart attack and passed away in 20 minutes. I do believe that she died of a broken heart and that she just gave up when she realized her dream was never to be. Eunice was never married and never had a child. Eunice was the last of the 1st cousins from her grandparents to pass away, and the last child of her mother and father to pass away. One of the cousins lived to be 103, but preceeded her in death. I have lots of particulars on her life, but I don't know if you are interested in all that. I do have copies of pictures (at different ages) of her if you are interested in that. Ruth Irene Williams born April 8, 1905 at Petros, TN. She died June 5, 1907, at Collins, AR., of accidental poisoning. She was 2 years, 1 month and 27 days old. She is buried in Wartburg Cemetery. The story of her death is very interesting, if you would like that, too. ( have a copy of a photo of her) I'm pretty sure that this is more information than you wanted or needing, (guess I got carried away) but if you would like more, let me know. I have quite a bit of information on the Williams family of Wartburg, too. Some that would dispute the article in the latest Morgan County book, as well as an article in the Morgan County News regarding the old Williams home. I have wanted to come back to Morgan County and search for more information, for sometime. But I would like to be able to give copies of some of the info I have to someone that is interested in collecting historical facts about the families that lived there.
