Barbara Bolton, of Oak Ridge, James Edward Hall, 82, of Oak Ridge, Henry Clay East, 80, of Lenoir City, formerly of Oak Ridge, George Everett Mynatt, 92, \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ C. Barbara Bolton, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, April 30, 2004, at her home, after an extended illness. She was born in Opelika, Ala. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems after serving many years. Ms. Bolton re-established the Roberta Bohanon Temple No. 1381 of Oak Ridge, in which she served as Daughter Ruler for several years. According to her family, she had a passion and was a strong and devoted leader for the Temple. Her family said she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Ms. Bolton is survived by her mother, Lillian Spratling, of Oak Ridge; her devoted companion, William Allen, of Oak Ridge; her son, Anthony Spratling and very devoted daughter-in-law, Gloria, of Nashville; two sisters, Annie Frances Odom and Annie Bell Williams, both of Oak Ridge; her brother, Carlston Spratling of Detroit, Mich.; her cousin, Sarah Barnett, of Oak Ridge; two grandchildren, Tammy Dowdell of Oak Ridge and Dr. Anthony Spratling Jr. and wife, Kadijah, of Newark, N.J.; her stepgranddaughter, Yolanda Reed and husband, Michael, of Nashville; two great-grandchildren, Mykia Dowdell of Oak Ridge and Kahlil Spratling of Newark; two stepgreat-grandchildren, John and Victoria, both of Nashville; her goddaughter, Valerie Roberson, of Oak Ridge; her devoted friend, Brenda Jones and family; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2004, at Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. T.L. Mims officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church. Weatherford Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. James Edward Hall, 82, of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, May 2, 2004, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Knoxville. Originally from Evansville, Ind., he was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Air Force in the United States and Europe. He retired in 1987 as plant superintendent with Rust Engineering and was previously a construction superintendent with H.D. Ferguson. His family said he enjoyed sharing his retirement years with Daphne, his beloved wife of 57 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children, Jim Hall Jr. and wife, Janis, of Cherry Hill, N.J., John Hall and wife, Kristy, of Knoxville, Virginia Wyatt and husband, Read, of Atlanta, Ga., and Joe Hall and wife, Tammy, of Pleasonton, Calif. His family said he also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Aaron, Andrew, Allyson, Cayla and Pamela. He is also survived by two sisters, Jessie Humphrey and husband, Bob, of Evansville and Mary Beller and husband, Jim, of Owensboro, Ky.; his sister-in-law, Doreen Saltis, of Copley, Ohio; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. His family said they would like to give a special thanks and fond farewell to Mr. Hall's buddies in the Willow Creek Golf Club "Retreads" who helped him enjoy his final years of golfing. The family requests any memorials be in the form of contributions to St. Mary's Residential Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938, or to the American Lung Association of Tennessee, 212 S. Henry Clay East, 80, of Lenoir City, formerly of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, May 2, 2004, at Briarcliff Health Care Center in Oak Ridge. Born April 7, 1924, in Jellico, he was the son of Samuel Thomas and Evelyn Caroline Payne East. Mr. East was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II. He was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. His family said he enjoyed archery and flower gardening. He retired from Union Carbide in 1986, where he was a laboratory technician supervisor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Davidson. Mr. East is survived by his wife, Lovanna Jones East; his brother, Wayne East, of Sweetwater; a sister, Etta Faye Starnes, of St. Augustine, Fla.; two stepsons, Gabriel Castro of Lenoir City and Adam Castro of Toledo, Ohio; his stepdaughter, Suzette Kitts, of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews; and by a special grandniece, Kailey Danielle Adkins. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Herbert Lee officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. George Everett Mynatt, 92, died Sunday, May 2, 2004. Born June 16, 1911, in Grainger County, he was the son of William H. and Susan Penelope Mynatt. Mr. Mynatt came to Knox County when he was 17 to secure a job in a restaurant. In 1940, he began working as a salesman for a flour milling firm, J. Allen Smith & Co. and in 1960, he formed his own business, Mynatt Brokerage Co. His food brokerage firm was a factor in the Knoxville food market area for a number of years. In recognition of his stature in the business field, he was elected by his peers to serve as president of the Knoxville Food Brokers Association. In 1972, Mr. Mynatt sold his company to retire. Mr. Mynatt served as a delegate to the Tennessee Constitutional Convention called in 1971 to address the state's tax structure and his family said he was proud of the resulting plan that lowered taxes on residences within the state. From 1974 to 1999, when he again retired at age 87, he worked full time as an officer of the court for Knox County Criminal Court. A former deacon at Broadway Baptist Church, Mr. Mynatt was a founding member, treasurer and deacon at Second Baptist Church, and a current member of Central Baptist Church in Fountain City. According to his family, Mr. Mynatt had a wide interest in many things. In addition to his lifelong participation in the Republican Party, he served for years as chairman of the 31st voting precinct. His family said he had long been a student of his family's genealogy and was a recognized authority in this area. He was a member of Sons of the Revolution and First Families of Tennessee organization. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Marie Vance Mynatt. Mr. Mynatt is survived by his three children, Allen Mynatt and wife, Joyce Ann, of Oak Ridge and Pat Baker and husband, Herman, and Nancy Noel and husband, David, all of Knoxville; nine grandchildren, Dr. John Baker and wife, Karen, Jim Baker and wife, Janet, Suzy Meredith and husband, Mark, William A. Mynatt Jr., Patti Mynatt, Dr. Bob Mynatt and wife, Margaret, Lea Spencer and husband, David, Patrick Noel and Christopher Noel; and by 11 great-grandchildren, Haley Baker, Hannah Baker, Hillary Baker, Evan Baker, Olivia Baker, Harrison Baker, Sophia Baker, Amy Meredith, Wendy Meredith, John Mynatt and Ben Mynatt. The family expresses a special thanks to friends and caregivers at Elmcroft Assisted Living and NHC HealthCare of Farragut, as well as to Dr. Randolph Lowery and his staff. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel in Knoxville with the Rev. Dr. David Crocker, the Rev. Max Reddick and Judge Richard Ford officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 6, at Lynnhurst Cemetery in Knoxville, where family and friends will meet at the West Adair Drive entrance. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
