Ida Juanita Roberts Holder Donathan was born into this world on March 4, 1927, in Pennington Gap, Lee County, Virginia to Margaret Mae Justes and Jesse (Pet) Roberts. Juanita, 77 years old, made a peaceful journey to Heaven at 6:42 a.m., Friday morning, May 14, 2004, in Fountain, Florida where she resided with her daughter, Gerri DeGroff. A remarkable woman, she lived her life in Virginia, Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky and Florida. Although she faced many trials and tribulations in her life, with the help of God, she was able to overcome them all with great strength, dignity and a growing spirit. Her greatest happiness on this Earth was in her children, but her life also touched many thousands of others. She would give words of wisdom or a moment of hope to anyone who needed them, but never realized how far reaching those few moments would be for many years to come. Preceding her in death were her first husband, Robert Holder, her second husband, John Donathan, her parents, Margaret Mae Justes Roberts and Jesse (Pet) Roberts, stepmother, Bigaha Matthews Roberts, four brothers William, Elmer, Verlin, Carl, and a sister Margaret Roberts Eagle. She is survived by children, Carlos Holder and wife, Linda, of Florida, Margaret Holder Beasley of North Carolina, Gerri Holder DeGroff and husband, Herb, of Florida, Gary (Sonny Holder) Crawford and wife, Brenda, of Kentucky, Judy Donathan of Florida, John Donathan, Jr., Florida and Clyde Donathan of Florida. She is also survived by two brothers, Walter Roberts and wife, Helen Spivey Roberts, of Ben Hur, Virginia and Claude Roberts and wife, Ruth, of Georgia. Juanita has 11 grand children, many great grand children and hundreds of nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss her presence. Receiving of friends will be at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Panama City, Florida on Saturday, May 15, 2004, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Kent-Forest Chapel. Memorial services will be Sunday, May 16, 2004, at 3 p.m., in the Chapel of Kent-Forest.
