Hi All- I'm brand new to the list, having just subscribed only a few posts ago. I would have been surprised to see the query on Dewey if I weren't such a fan of synchronicity. I'm a 'double' Brown, my maiden name being Brown, and having married a Brown. Let me state for record that my husband is not, in so much as I am aware, my first, second, or even third cousin. After that it may get a little shaky, LOL :-) Dewey is from my side of the Browns. He's one of my grandfather Henry Isaac Brown's younger brothers. Their parents were Tim B. and Millie A. Brown. I forwarded your query to my parents, who live in Deer Lodge, and my mother confirmed that this was the same Dewey, and mentioned that they had attended the viewing at the funeral home and that my father had "seen cousins he hadn't seen for years". I am intensely interested in Millie, as I have virtually no info on her what so ever, even though my interest in tracing that particular portion of the family is what initially generated my interest in genealogy. Sorry, I should introduce myself- my name is Rachelle, named after my father, Raymond, a son of Henry and 'Vider' (Vida Mae Shephard) Brown. I'm looking for Brown's on both sides. My husband's family also went through Tennessee on their way to settling Illinois, so it can get quite confusing at times. I'd be delighted to share the meager information that I have on either the Brown, Shephard, or affiliated lines, with anyone interested, and would be deeply grateful for any information that could be provided on the same. R.E. Brown
