From The Knoxville News Sentinel 10 May 2004 EDDY, WILLIAM EARL - 68 of Clinton, EDDY, WILLIAM EARL - 68 of Clinton, died at the Methodist Medical Center on Saturday, May 8, 2004. Born on June 8, 1935 in Greenville, PA to parents William McKinley and Florence Good Eddy. A graduate of Penn High School in Greenville, PA., Veteran with the US Navy and Air Force. A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a 4th Degree of Knights of Columbus, a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Sportsman Club, and a life member of the United States Practical Shooting Association and of the Eddy Family Foundation, Certified Special Officer of Save Clinton Citizen's Academy. Mr. Eddy worked for Westinghouse Electric for 30 years, 7 years with Becthel National Corporation, was a Consultant with the University of Tennessee, and retired from Westinghouse in 1986 as a Computer Manager Programmer. Survivors include: wife, Sally Jean Eddy, Clinton; son, Bruce William Eddy and wife, Daria of Shalimar, FL; daughter, Margaurite Laughlin and husband, Jon, Austin, TX; brothers, Norman and Maurice Eddy, Greenville, PA; grandchildren, Andrew William Laughlin, Austin, TX, Samantha Nicole and Jacob McKinley Eddy, Shalimar, FL; many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Wednesday, 11 am with Rev. Michael Woods officiating. Interment will be at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The family asks that memorials be in the form of donations to St. Mary's Building Fund, 327 A Vermont Ave., Oak Ridge, TN 37830 and the Oak Ridge Duplicate Bridge Club.
