VERLIN - age 72, of Briceville, Tn., MARSILI, MARY R. - age 100 \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ PHILLIPS, REV. VERLIN - age 72, of Briceville, Tn., passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was born January 20, 1932. He was a member of Laurel Grove Baptist Church since August 31, 1947. He was pastor of Community Baptist Church. He loved to coon hunt, fish, but most of all he loved to serve the Lord and preach the Gospel which he had done since July, 1957. He was preceded in death by parents, Richard & Rosa Phillips; brothers, Lewis and Johah Phillips; sisters, Vergie, Evy & Nettie; father and mother-in-law, Clyde & Cora Lee Vandergriff. Survivors: wife of 54 years, Jean Vandergriff Phillips whom he loved very much; daughters, Nettie Braden & husband, Richard, of Briceville, Wanda Carroll & husband, Johnny, of Briceville, Betty Phillips Seiber of Briceville; sons, Ray Phillips & wife, Mary, of Briceville; Roger Phillips & wife, Ruby, of Briceville; Tommy Philllips & wife, LeaAnn, of Briceville; grandchildren, Deena Coffman, Joshua Seiber, Jonathan & Betha Carroll, Scott, Amanda, Rachael, Verlin Lee, Jessica, Emily, Kimberly, Colton, Reid & Ashlynn Phillips, all of Briceville; sister, Etta Patterson of Harriman; brothers, Virgil Phillips & wife, Alice, of Briceville, Walter Phillips & wife, Norma, of Lake City; several nieces & nephews and host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 30, 2004 from 6 to 9 PM at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 31, 2004 at 2:00 PM at the Laurel Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Howard and Rev. Steve Seiber officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Laurel Grove Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City in charge of all arrangements. MARSILI, MARY R. - age 1001, formerly of Lynch, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2004, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She was born on May 20, 1902, in Lankashire, England, unto the union of the late Phillip & Thomassina Raso. She believed in the Catholic faith and was a homemaker & devoted wife of the late Eliseo Marsili. Survivors include: three sons, Fred Marsili of Huntsville, Alabama, Lee "Babe" (Josie) Marsili of Lynch, Kentucky, and Frank (Rita) Marsili of Evanston, Indiana; one daughter, Francis (Bob) Broome of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; twenty grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, January 29, 2004, from 6-8 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Lynch. Funeral services will be Friday, January 30, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Resurrection in Lynch, Kentucky with Father Ed Lammert officiating. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery at Cumberland, Kentucky.
