From the Knoxville News Sentinal POWELL, MRS. REMA DIXIE  age 88 of Wartburg passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Gus E. and Iola Heidle; husband, Asa Powell; sister, Rosa M. Heidle. She is survived by: her sister, Willie Mae Perry of Wartburg; daughter, Carolyn and husband Jerry Beene of Wartburg; son, Danny and wife, Jolean Powell of Morristown; grandchildren, Eric Schaefer and Stephanie Schaefer of Wartburg, Angela Helton, Kelly Powell, and Erica Powell of Morristown; four great grandchildren; many loving friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 7, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. Funeral services will begin at 8 p.m. with Bro. David Acres officiating. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, 11 a.m. in Wartburg City Cemetery.
