AUBRA C. - age 79 of Jacksboro HILL, RUBY CLARK - age 80 of LaFollette JONES, SHARON GAIL - age 49, of Clinton, MORTON, ELVE SHOUN - of Jellico, Tenn., SMITH, DRAMIA M. - of Oak Ridge, \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ ADKINS, MR. AUBRA C. - age 79 of Jacksboro passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2004, at his home. He was a member of Faithway Assembly of God Church where he was also a Sunday School Teacher. He was also a member of New Albany, IN Masonic Lodge and a W.W.II Veteran. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Elsie Adkins of Jacksboro; daughter, Brenda Newkirk of Jacksboro; son, Michael Adkins and wife, Katie of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Carlie Adkins of Chattanooga, Aimee and Joshua Cahill of Jacksboro, Andrew and Jill Newkirk of North Carolina; great granddaughter, Aubree Cahill of Jacksboro; sister Imogene Johnson of Texas; brother, Glen Adkins of Kentucky; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services Friday 8 p.m. at Faithway Assembly of God Church with Rev. Steve Bruce officiating. Interment Saturday 11 a.m. at Adkins Cemetery in Scott County with military honors conducted by the Campbell County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Faithway Assembly of God Church. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Aubra Adkins. HILL, RUBY CLARK - age 80 of LaFollette passed away Thursday, January 15, 2004 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of the Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Hill enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her daughters, grandchildren and great grandson. She also enjoyed sewing and being a homemaker. Mrs. Hill retired after 20 years of service from Cracker Barrel and was the former owner and operator of Scotties. She was preceded in death by: husband, Odevia Hill who passed away February 28, 1974, and parents, Fuller and Dana Williams Clark; brothers, L.C., Fred, and Junior Clark; sisters, Opal Powell, Ruth Greer, Edith Massengale and Marie Greer. Mrs. Hill is survived by: daughter, Helen Hill of LaFollette; daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Vernon Reid; grandson, Jason Reid all of Leawood, KS; granddaughter, and husband, Aimee and Jessie Hicks; great grandson, Tyler Hicks all of Amsterdam, MO; brother, Kenneth Clark of Arthur, TN; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 18 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Cordell and brother, Johnny Massengale officiating. Interment will follow in Campbell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Sunday before funeral services. Martin Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. JONES, SHARON GAIL - age 49, of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at Methodist Medical Center. Gail dedicated her life to her heavenly father, husband & two wonderful children. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church & attended Faith Christian Church. Preceded in death by grandparents. Born March 28, 1954 in Knox County. Survivors: husband, Clint Jones of Clinton; son, William Clint Jones of Clinton; daughter, Leslie "Cookie" Nichole Jones of Clinton; parents,Rev. Howard & Pauline Clevenger Hurst of Knoxville; brothers,Danny Hurst & wife Pat of Knoxville,Dennis Hurst & wife Linda of Louisville, John Hurst & wife Debra of Clinton; sisters,Diane & husband Mike Lynn of Knoxville, Debra & husband Ricky Smithy of Knoxville; 7 nieces & nephews; 4 great nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Saturday, January 24, 2004 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 25, 2004 at Faith Christian Church with Rev. Kenneth Ivey officiating. The interment will follow at Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton in charge of all arrangements. MORTON, ELVE SHOUN - of Jellico, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2004. She died after a long illness with family at her side. Mrs. Morton was born February 6, 1913 in the Demory Community of Campbell County. For the past four years she has lived with her daughter and son in law, Reta and J. Will Jones at 2780 Woodlawn Church Road, Lenoir City, Tenn. 37771. Mrs. Morton was a member of Jellico United Methodist Church. She taught school in Campbell County and retired as a Guidance Counselor of Jellico High School. She lived a full and active life in Campbell County. During her teaching career she was involved in many educational organizations. She has also been an active member of the Republican Party and was a charter member of the Campbell County Republican Women. She had a Bachelor of Arts degree in education and a Master of Science degree in school counseling from the University of Tennessee. She was married to the late Hoyt Morton. Other surviving family members include her children, Roger Morton and his wife, Gayla of Chattanooga, John Morton and his wife, Patti of Fort Myers, Fla. and Sharon Morton of Clinton. Her grandchildren are Nancy J. Pierce, Buddy Jones, Ken Jones, M'Shalle Brewer, Leigh Ann Pickens, Lula Morton, Eileen McAfee, Theresa Woods, Angela Marlow, Lynn Chitwood, Paul Chitwood, and Dana Chitwood. She has twenty-three great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, Ada Heatherly of Orlando, Fla., Irene Robinette of Morganton, NC, and the Rev. J.L. Shoun, Jr. of LaFollette, Tenn., as well as many caring nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend the sincerest appreciation to the health care providers of the skilled nursing facility of Farragut Health Care Center. The family will receive friends at Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jellico, Tenn. on Friday, January 23, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. the funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. and will be conducted by Dr. Paul Chitwood. Grandsons, Dana Chitwood, Lynn Chitwood, Buddy Jones, and Ken Jones and grandson in law, James McAfee will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2004 at Bakers Forge Cemetery, LaFollette, Tenn. with Dr. Chitwood officiating. SMITH, DRAMIA M. - of Oak Ridge, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at the Methodist Medical Center. She was a long-time member of Glenwood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Robert B. Smith Jr., her father and mother, Peter M. and Cora Mayes of Newport, TN; two brothers, Ben and William and two sisters, Helen Shaver and Hattie Lewis. She is survived by a son, Robert B. Smith III and his wife Patricia Tanner Smith of Lebanon, MO; daughter, Brenda S. Templeton and friend Dwight L. Guy of Franklin, NC; and grandson, Steven Tanner Smith and his wife Gail Mungle Smith of Springfield, MO. Her very special friends and long-time caretakers were Earmel and Hilda Bean, Gerald and Gloria Pierce and Tom Hutton of Oak Ridge. Graveside services will be Saturday, January 24, 2004 at 11:00am at Union Cemetery in Newport with Rev. Earl Wilson officiating. The family requests that any memorials be made in the form of contributions to Glenwood Baptist Church Food Cupboard, 200 South Alabama Rd., Oak Ridge, TN 37830. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:30 - 7:30 at Weatherford Mortuary.
