    2. >From The Knoxville News Sentinel 16 Jan 2004 BOURGETTE, MARY NELL - age 66 of Clinton, BOYD, BILLIE RUTH COLE - CAPPIELLO, FRANK ANTHONY, JR. - 76, of Oak Ridge, GOINS, CLAYTON - of LaFollette, TIVIS, MEREDITH, JR. - age 79 of LaFollette WALDEN, WILLIAM W. "TRUCKY" JR. - age 79, of Lake City, \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ BOURGETTE, MARY NELL - age 66 of Clinton, died Thursday January 15, 2004 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was a member of First Baptist Church Concord where she served as financial secretary for almost 25 years before retiring in 2003 for health reasons. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. BOYD, BILLIE RUTH COLE - passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 14, 2004. She was born in Honaker, Virginia on August 15, 1929, the daughter of the late Bradley Paul and Minnie Bell Cole. She graduated from high school in Richlands, Virginia in 1947, and has been a resident of the Knoxville area since 1952. She was active in youth sports, PTA, and school and community activities in the Farragut and Karns communities, and attended the Presbyterian Church although raised in the Baptist Church. She was later employed as manager of the Nancy Lynn Fashions clothing stores in Oak Ridge and Powell. Afterward she cared for the elderly and infirm, and finally was an employee of Brinks Security Systems. She loved life and loved her children more. She could have been anything she set her mind to be but instead married, settled down, had five children and made a home that welcomed any and all who showed up on her doorstep. She enjoyed music and travel, dancing and laughter, and was always prepared for the unexpected joke or prank from her children. Billie Ruth is preceded in death by her beloved second child, Susan Elaine Boyd and brother John P. Cole. She is survived by daughter Beverly Boyd Williams of Knoxville, son and daughter in law L. H. Boyd, Jr. and Suzie Boyd of Oliver Springs, daughter Ann Ellen Boyd of Oak Ridge, and son and daughter in law Daniel J. Boyd and Kimberly F. Boyd of Knoxville; sister and brother in law Patricia C. Jones and James Jones of Bluefield, Virginia, sister in law and husband Jerry Cole Yearout and Bob Yearout of Blacksburg, Virginia, and brother and sister in law B.P. Cole and Marion Cole of Anderson, South Carolina. Joyce Packer of Knoxville was considered a special friend and companion in later years. Billie will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends alike. A short service will be held on Saturday at 8:00pm at Weatherford Mortuary. Graveside services are Sunday at 2:00pm at Sunset Cemetery in Clinton. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Assn., 4700 Rutledge Pike, Knoxville, TN 37914. (www.weatherfordmortuary.com) CAPPIELLO, FRANK ANTHONY, JR. - 76, of Oak Ridge, died January 15, 2004 at Lake City Health Care. He was born March 27, 1927 in Bronx, New York to Frank and Mae Cappiello. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic and an avid supporter of the Boys Club of Oak Ridge. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife Jane Cappiello of 45 years; two sons; Frank Anthony Cappiello, Jr and wife Lori of Powell, and Michael James Cappiello and wife Tricia of Newport News, Virginia; one daughter; Ann Marie Yates and husband Les of Kingston, TN; two sisters; Irene D'Ambrosio and husband Leonard of Bronx, New York and Otella Stahley of Las Vegas, Nevada; three grandchildren; Marsha Yates of Murfreesboro, TN, Dawn Cappiello of Newport News, Virginia and Ashlyn Michelle Cappiello of Newport News, Virginia. A graveside service will be held Sunday, January 18, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from Noon until 2:00 pm Sunday at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge. GOINS, CLAYTON - of LaFollette, born February 26, 1926, went to be with the Lord and family on Wed., January 14, 2004. He was a member and Deacon of Forks Grove Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Emit and Nora Smith Goins; four brothers, John, Homer, Lloyd and Don Goins. Clayton spent 31 years working at Shelby Grocery, driving their Rolling Store. He was a WW II US Army veteran. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Juanita Underwood Goins; three daughters, Joyce and husband Ronnie Johnson, Judy and husband, Dallas Jackson and Vicky and husband, Gary Miller; six grandchildren, Angela Jackson, Tommy Jackson, Marty Jackson, Becky Morris, and Roy and Ray Miller; three great grandchildren, all of LaFollette; sisters, Annie Goins, Nadine Jones, Naomi Jones; brother, Clifford Goins; and many nieces and nephews. He was a friend to all he met, a sweet husband, dad and a friend. He will be sadly missed. Funeral service 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16 at Cross Chapel, Rev. Don Reynolds and Rev. Jim Wilcox officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Sat. Jan. 17 at Fincastle Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Fri. Before the funeral service. Arrangements by Cross Funeral Home. TIVIS, MEREDITH, JR. - age 79 of LaFollette passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at the U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a member of the Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. Mr. Meredith was a carpenter and member of Local Union #50. He was also a Navy War World II veteran having served on the USS Howard in the South Pacific. He was retired from Russ Engineering in Oak Ridge with 40 years of service. Tivis was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting and all of outdoors. He was preceded in death by parents: Tivis and Carrie Irwin Meredith; brother: John Meredith; sisters: Oral Alexander; Willie Smith, Faye Rutherford, and Mary Ruby Meredith. Mr. Meredith is survived by his loving wife of 48 years: Margie Meredith of LaFollette; son and daughter-in- law: David and Cassie Meredith of Waverly, OH; daughter: Stephanie Meredith of LaFollette; daughter and son-in-law: Kathy and Steve Hicks of Powell, TN; grandson: Dustin Perkins of Knoxville; granddaughter: Brianna Bolt of Waverly, OH: sister: Joie Ols of Porter, IN; special little friends: MaKayla and Colby Partin of LaFollette; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 8 PM Friday, January 16 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Partin officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Saturday in Oak Grove Cemetery. "TRUCKY" JR. - age 79, of Lake City, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a member of Island Ford Baptist Church where he had served as Trustee and Superintendent of Sunday School. He was a WWII army veteran. He is retired from X-10 in Oak Ridge where he worked for 33 years. He loved to do woodworking and making placemats. He was preceded in death by daughter, Joyce Hannah; great-grandson, Rylan McCall Swanner; parents, William Walter and Nannie Douglas Walden; sister, Mildred Pumphrey. Survivors: wife of 60 years, Mary Harmon Walden of Lake City, Tn.; daughters, Janet Webb of Lake City, Tn., Dianna Sue Childs & husband, Roger Leon, of Clinton, Tn.; sons, Walter "Buddy" Walden & wife, Dianne, of Clinton, Tn., Garry Walden & wife, Linda, of Heiskell, Tn.; sisters, Della Mae Laymon & husband, Jason, of Front Royal, Va., Bernice Newlon & husband, Charles, of Glen Easton, W. Charles Harness & Rev. Myron Ford officiating. Interment will be Sunday, January 18th. at 2:00 PM at the Island Ford Baptist Church Cemetery in Lake City.
