Folks..........I received this from my internet provider and thought you might want to be aware of it: <<We have received information from one of our local banks concerning an alert they received from the FDIC. The email has the subject 'Consumer Alert' and claims to be from the Department of Homeland Security, Federal, State, and Local Governments. The email requests very personal bank account information. I have seen a copy of the email; it looks official enough to appear authentic. The emails to financial institution customers fraudulently claim to be from the FDIC attempt to obtain highly sensitive personal information, including bank account information. These emails falsely indicate that FDIC deposit insurance is suspended until the requested customer information is provided.
