She was born February 1, 1922 in Roane County. She was a member of Jonesville United Methodist Church in Oliver Springs. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Oliver Springs Chapter No. 211. Preceded in death by: her husband, Vernon W. Jones; parents, Jeff & Sallie Webster Wright; sisters, Jessie Marsh, Mildred Jones & Altha Freels; brothers, Claude, Clifford, Boyd & Harold Wright. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Palm Bay, Florida and a past member of Central Baptist Church of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He retired in 1981 after 32 years from Union Carbide, Oak Ridge, where he received many awards and was credited with several patents in engineering design. He was a flight instructor for the Army Air Corps during World War II and continued serving in the Civil Air Patrol. He was a lifetime member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics and authored many articles in various model aircraft magazines. He was a charter member of the Knoxville Chapter of the United Ostomy Association. He played clarinet in orchestras at both churches in Oak Ridge and Melbourne. He enjoyed drawing and painting. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Hubert G. and Helen Crane Tudor; brothers, Philip C., Charles C. and James R. Tudor; sister, Mary Stewart. Survivors include: sons, Sky Tudor, Anchorage, Alaska, John Tudor, Jr., Broomall, Pennsylvania: and daughters, Sarah Watkins, Lancaster, Kentucky, Julia Rodgers, Sandy Valley, Nevada, Tanya Guidry, Las Vegas, Nevada and Traci Harvey, Lenoir City, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; brother, William P. WHITE, VERA E. - age 79, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at the Briarcliff Healthcare Center in Oak Ridge. She was born September 15, 1924 in Union County and moved to Roane County in 1935. Mrs. White was a member of New Fairview Baptist Church for 48 years and was active in the church choir.
