    2. >From the Knoxville News Sentinel 2 Mar 2004 COKER, VERLDON EDWARD - age 85, of Oliver Springs, FORGETY, DONALD A. age 69, of Andersonville, MARTIN, MARY KATHERYN - age 73, of Clinton, MONEYMAKER, JAMES CRAIG age 47 of Solway, \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ COKER, VERLDON EDWARD - age 85, of Oliver Springs, passed away Sunday, February 29, 2004 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was born February, 22, 1919 in Charley's Branch, Tennessee, to the late William Lewis and Belle Cross Coker. In addition to his patents he was also preceded by: a brother, Earl Coker; a sister, Mavia Leach; and by a granddaughter, Catherine Brown, and by a son-in-law, Vann Kelly. He was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of Free Communion Baptist Church in Anderson County, however he attended the First Baptist Church of Oliver Springs. He was a 50 year member of Black Diamond Masonic Lodge # 625 F. & A.M. in Petros, Tennessee and a 50 year member of the Scottish Rite and Kerbella Shrine Temple of Knoxville. Mr. Coker operated an Esso Service Station in Oliver Springs in the early 1940's. He was a veteran of WWII serving his country in the Pacific Theater. He operated Coker Bus Line in the early 1940's which transported workers to Oak Ridge for the Manhattan Project. In 1951 he helped establish Walls and Coker Trucking Company, Inc. He was also instrumental in other various mining and coal related projects spanning over 35 years prior to his retirement. He was involved in local real estate development and served as an Oliver Springs City Councilman and in other civic projects. Survivors: wife, of 67 years, Irene (Robinson) Coker of Oliver Springs; daughter, Verldean Kelly of Oliver Springs; son, Eddie Coker and wife Linda of Oliver Springs; grandchildren, Karen and Wes Kirkland of Powell, Cindy and Dan Davis of Andersonville, Scott and Cindy Coker of Oliver Springs, Eric Coker of Oliver Springs, Mike and Debbie Kelly of Rockwood, Cindy and Roger Bendure of LaVergne, Darlene and Steve Collins of Oliver Springs, Jeff and Sandy Kelly of Oliver Springs, Mitchell Kelly of Oliver Springs, Ronnie and Suzanne Poole of Oliver Springs; great grandchildren, Wesley Kirkland of Powell, Rodney and Lewis Coker of Oliver Springs, Kristie and Taylor Kelly of Rockwood, Allison and Madison Bendure of LaVergne, Kelly Collins of Oliver Springs, Phillip and Kristin Kelly of Oliver Springs, Shannon and Morgan Poole of Oliver Springs, Mary Catherine Brown of Knoxville; special nephew, Bobby Leach of Andersonville; and nephew, Ronnie Coker of Devonia; sister, Pearl Phillips and family of Devonia,; sister-in-law, Verna Phillips of Oliver Springs. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 2, 2004 between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home with Rev. Robbie Leach and Rev. Todd Johnson officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. FORGETY, DONALD A. age 69, of Andersonville, passed away Sunday, February 29, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was a retired Chief of U.S. Navy. Preceded in death by: parents, Fred & Innie Harrington Forgety. Born October 29, 1934 in Jefferson County. Survivors: wife, Gladys Forgety; daughter, Carma Duggan; step daughter, Teresa Young & husband Phil; grandchildren, Rebecca & Andrew Long; sisters, Wanda & husband Jim Bell, Shirley & husband Bill Bowling, Norma & husband Jack Tindell; brothers & sisters-in-law, Edith & J.R. Keller, Carl & Kaye Maples; several nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. The graveside service will be held 1:00 pm, Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery in Strawberry Plains with Rev. Donnie Wallace officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton in charge of all arrangements. MARTIN, MARY KATHERYN - age 73, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, February 29, 2004 at Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was a loving wife, mother & grandmother. Preceded in death by parents, Buford & Dorthy Irene Longmire Black, sister-in-law, Wilma Black. Born December 23, 1930 in Powell, Tennessee. Survivors: husband of 48 years, William "Bill" Martin of Clinton; daughter, Rhonda Pierce of Clinton; granddaughters, Arminda Pierce, Deanna Lemak & husband John, Rebecca Pierce; grandson, Matthew Tippie; brothers, Kelly, Jim, Gene, Tom & Bill Black; sisters, Elizabeth Wendelkin, Sue Watson. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at Holley- Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the chapel with Rev. Joe Bridges officiating. MONEYMAKER, JAMES CRAIG age 47 of Solway, passed away suddenly Saturday, February 28, 2004. Member of Solway Baptist Church. Employee of Boeing for 20 years. Everyone that knew him loved him. Survived by: parents, Jimmy & Faye Moneymaker; sisters & brothers-in-law, Terry & Donna Keith and Tom & Susan Blackstock; nephew, Shane Keith; niece, Kayla Blackstock; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; special friends, Johnny Alley, Danny Wade, & Debra Castleberry. The family will receive friends 5-8 pm Wednesday at Weaver's Chapel with the service to follow at 8 pm. Reverends Ray Buchanan & Harold Ogle officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am Thursday at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for an 11 am graveside service.
