The family will receive friends Saturday, March 20, 2004 between the hours of 2:00-4:00 pm, at the First Baptist Church in Oliver Springs with funeral service following at 4:00 pm, with Rev. Todd Johnson & Rev. Mark Umbehegan officiating. Interment will be held Sunday, March 21, 2004 at 2:00 pm, at Anderson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, family request that memorials be made to Oliver Springs First Baptist Church Children's Ministry, 206 Roane Street, Oliver Springs, TN 37840. Sharp Funeral Home of Oliver Springs in charge of all arrangements. GATTIS, FLOYD - age 57 of Oak Ridge, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2004 in Atlanta. A member of Marble City Baptist Church, he was a Compliance Officer with OSHA. Mr. Gattis is survived by his wife, Betty Gattis; son and daughter in law Gary Gattis and wife Marty; brothers Lloyd and Richard Gattis; sister Tina Biggs; three grandsons David Willis, Brian Willis and Bobby Willis; great-granddaughter Katie Willis, all of Knoxville. The family will receive friends at the Highland Memorial Chapel Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. with the funeral to follow in the funeral home chapel at 7:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. George Williams. The family and friends will assemble at Highland Memorial Chapel on Monday by 1:00 p.m. to go in procession to Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery for a 1:30 p.m. graveside service, Volunteer State Honor Guard providing military rites. He served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years at Cedar Hill Baptist Church and as a trustee at Bakers Forge Cemetery. He was currently a member of the Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. An Army veteran of WWII, he served in India and Burma. He retired as a rural letter carrier. Preceded in death by parents, James and Bessie Gross, brother, Newman Gross and sister, LottieWatkins. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Bonnie Gross; daughters and sons-in-law, Regina and Douglas Braden of LaFollette, Margaret and Carl King of Riverview, FL.; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Pat Gross of Fort Walton Beach, FL.; sister, Louise Turney of LaFollette; nephew, Richard and wife Nancy Turney of Memphis; grandchildren, Mark and wife Tonya Braden, Teresa, and Matthew Braden of LaFollette, Lindsey and wife Angie of Alabama; six great-grandchildren, Alina, Jaimie, J.R., Jacob, Joshua, and Alie; special friends Neil and Terry Crass; several other relatives and friends. EMMA WILLIAMS - age 91, of Oak Ridge, formerly of Wartburg, died Thursday evening, March 18, 2004, at the NHC Health Care, Oak Ridge. She was preceded in death by parents; August and Bertie Freytag, husbands; Raymond Williams and Warner Taylor, daughter; Audrey Lee Williams. She was a member of the Glenwood Baptist Church, Oak Ridge and a member of the Easter Star Chapter, Oak Ridge. She is survived by her; daughter; Merilyn Coulthard, Glade Spring, Va.; son; Ray Williams, of Oak Ridge; brothers; Roy Freytag, Red Bank, Tn. and A.B. Freytag, of Wartburg; 5 grand children and 11 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 20th, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg, funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. with Dr. Chris Stephens officiating.
