>From The Oak Ridger 5 Mar 2004 Linnie Cleveland Coleman, a 100-year-old resident of Oliver Springs and formerly of Rockwood, Wauldine Jennings Hebert, 85, Sherry Ann DeLong Hendrickson, 52, of Oliver Springs, Minnie Ball Henry, 97, of Oak Ridge, Robert Moore, 79, of Wartburg, Dean Nelson, 65, of Clinton, \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Linnie Cleveland Coleman, a 100-year-old resident of Oliver Springs and formerly of Rockwood, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at her home. Born May 15, 1903, in Loudon County, she was the daughter of the late Will Cleveland and Emma Cannon Cleveland. After her marriage to her late husband, Raymond Eskridge Sr., she moved to Rockwood. Mrs. Coleman was a faithful member of Phillippi Primitive Baptist Church of Rockwood. And, she was a field agent and actively involved in the women's auxiliary of the church. She also served as an association delegate for her church. Employed as a cook at the Dixie Café of Rockwood for many years, Mrs. Coleman also cooked at the Bean Box for several years. Her hobbies included gardening and sewing. Mrs. Coleman's family described her as a homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her second husband, James Coleman; a son, Raymond Eskridge Jr.; and two sons-in-law, Clifford McKinley Jones and William Smith. Mrs. Coleman is survived by two daughters, Rosetta E. Jones of Rockwood and Margaret E. Smith of Harriman; a daughter-in-law, Anna Rose Eskridge of Oliver Springs; 11 grandchildren, Curtis L. Eskridge Harold T. Jones and Donald Jones, all of Rockwood, McKinley Jones of California, David Jones, Laura A. Dean, Delores A. Steele and Vivian Smith, all of Knoxville, Herbert Lee Jones of Texas, James Edward Miles of Delaware, and Norman Eskridge of Jefferson City. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren; a brother, R.C. Cleveland of Newark, N.J.; two sisters, Matilda Hughes of Knoxville and Lillie Mae Parham of Newark; several nieces, nephews and relatives; friends; and church members. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Phillippi Primitive Baptist Church of Rockwood with James Knaff officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood. The family will receive friends 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church. Sharp Funeral Home of Oliver Springs is in charge of arrangements. Wauldine Jennings Hebert, 85, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, after nearly a four-month illness, at her home. Born April 27, 1918, in Hermitage, she was the daughter of John and Della Logue Jennings. She graduated from Donaldson High School and attended Peabody College in Nashville and the University of Tennessee. She moved to Oak Ridge in 1946 and worked for the Atomic Energy Commission as a materials accountability clerk until 1953. She married Gordon McCook Hebert, now deceased, on Sept. 3, 1949, at First Baptist Church of Donaldson. The couple lived in Oak Ridge until 1950 when they moved to a small farm in Solway and started a family. Mrs. Hebert was a charter member of Fairview Baptist Church in Solway for 17 years and then a member of First Baptist Church in Oak Ridge from 1978 until her death. She was a founding worker at First Baptist Church Agape benevolence center. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Jennings Hebert. Mrs. Hebert is survived by two daughters, Linda Hebert Smith and Eleanor Hebert Wyatt; her son, Joel J. Hebert; three grandsons, Spencer Smith, Wesley Smith and Nathaniel Wyatt; two sisters, Margaret Liddle and Thurman Harris; and by her brother, Paul Douglas Jennings. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Raymond Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to First Baptist Church, 1101 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. Sherry Ann DeLong Hendrickson, 52, of Oliver Springs, died Tuesday, March 4, 2004, at her home. According to her family, Mrs. Hendrickson was a Christian and enjoyed her life to the fullest. Her family said she enjoyed helping other people and was a woman to learn from. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and June Hale DeLong, and by a son, Raymond Eric Woodsmall. Mrs. Hendrickson is survived by her husband, Ron Hendrickson; two daughters, Rebecca LeAnne Woodsmall and Jessica Elizabeth McNabb and husband, Camron McNabb, all of Oliver Springs; her granddaughter, Autumn Nicole Tiller, of Oliver Springs; two sisters, Evelyn Brant of Georgia and Sandra Cameron of Powell; and by her niece, Jackie Montgomery, of Claxton. A private memorial service will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004, at the home of Jessica McNabb at 268 Joel Road in Oliver Springs. Any floral arrangements can be delivered to the McNabb home. Oliver Springs Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Minnie Ball Henry, 97, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, March 5, 2004, at Continuum Courtyards of Oak Ridge, where her family said she was lovingly cared for since March 1999. Born in Honaker, Va., she was the daughter of Cornelias and Luevina Ball. She was the widow of a longtime resident of Oak Ridge, Ray Henry, who died Dec. 15, 1996. She was a member of Robertsville Baptist Church. Her hobbies included flower ardening, bird watching and reading. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Burl Fisher Sr. Mrs. Henry is survived by her grandson, Burl Fisher Jr. and wife, Harriet, of Virginia Beach, Va.; two stepsons, Joe Henry and wife, Louise, of Louisville, Ky., and James Henry of Eldorado, Ark.; her stepdaughter, Roberta Agnew and husband, Dr. John Agnew, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; her niece, Doris Garrett, of Union, Ohio; and by seven stepgrandchildren. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home. Robert Moore, 79, of Wartburg, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was a longtime member of Meadowview Baptist Church and an employee of the Tennessee Department of Transportation for several years. Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Wilma Moore; his daughter, Lucy Stewart and husband, Forrest, of Wartburg; his son, Gerald Moore and wife, Katrina, of Coalfield; five grandchildren, Robert Stewart of Wartburg, Melinda Stewart of Knoxville, Renee Moore of Oak Ridge, and Zachary Moore and Maegan Murray, both of Coalfield; and by two great-grandchildren, Chelsea Stewart and Nathan Stewart, both of Wartburg. His family said he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. The funeral will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2004, at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg with Mack Smith fficiating. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at Morgan Memorial Gardens in Wartburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Dean Nelson, 65, of Clinton, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at his residence. Born in 1938 in Long Beach, Calif., he graduated from Chula Vista High School in California in 1957. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1958. He served in South East Asia in 1967 and 1968 during the Vietnam War. He and his bride of 43 years, Lorraine Nelson, were stationed in Texas, Wyoming, California, New Mexico, Florida, Maryland, Germany, Illinois and finally the Pentagon in Washington D.C., where Mr. Nelson was the Department of Defense Liaison Officer to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. They retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1985, after 27 years. After a short stay in Western New York at a place called Model City, which is North of Niagara Falls, they moved to Oak Ridge in 1987. Mr. Nelson was the chief engineer for PEER Consultants in Oak Ridge until his death. His family said he was the best and most loving husband and father a family could ever want. In addition to his wife, Mr. Nelson is survived by two sons, David and wife, Reva, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Mike and wife, Bonnie, of Oliver Springs; his brother, Rodney Nelson, of California; and by his faithful companion, Lady. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with Robert Nine officiating. Burial will be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in La Jolla, Calif., at a later date. The family requests any memorials be in the form of contributions to the University of Wyoming, Air Force Memorial Fund or the University of California at Berkley.
