    2. >From The Oak Ridger 18 Sep 2007 William Clyde Kite, 79, of the Bethel community, Clarence Dennis Lewis, age 65, of Oak Ridge, Alyce Mortimore, age 86, of Harriman, Mary Paul Orme Thompson, 82, of Oak Ridge, William Clyde Kite, 79, of the Bethel community, went on to be with the Lord Sept. 17, 2007, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center at Knoxville. He attended Big Valley Open Door Church in Andersonville. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Luther Kite and Susan Hatmaker Kite; brothers, Lee Kite and James Kelly Kite; and a sister, Geraldine Campos. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Kite; sons, William C. Kite Jr. and wife, Mary, of Erie, Pa., Gary W. Kite of Elrye, Ohio, Timothy J. Kite and wife, Stephanie, of Warren, Ohio, and Jeremiah Kite and wife, Angela, of Andover, Ohio; daughters, Ruth A. Sabol and husband, Frank, of Richfield, Ohio, Kathleen Petti and husband, Tom, of Painsville, Ohio, Laura J. Fohl of Clinton, and Mary Ann Smith of Ashtabula, Ohio; brothers, David Kite and wife, Judy, of Johnson City, and Charles Kite of Halls; sisters, Lucille Dossett of Lake City, Ann Smith and husband, C.B., of Jefferson City, and Ruth Littleton of Lake City; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jim and Racheal Speer, and David and Kathy Melborne. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with the service to follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Rodger Carter officiating. Graveside services will be Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City is in charge of all arrangements. Clarence Dennis Lewis, age 65, of Oak Ridge, passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Lewis; grandson, Robert Lewis Jr.; parents, Roy James and Lillian Prater Lewis; and brothers, Robert Lee and Roy James Lewis Jr. He is survived by sons, Dean Lewis Jr. and wife, Jackie, of Oliver Springs, Robert Lewis of Oak Ridge, and Danny Lewis and wife, Jeannie, of Oak Ridge; daughters, Ramona Smith of Louisiana, and Katherine Niad and husband, Matthew, of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Stephanie Sweeten, Jessica Lewis, Cindy Lewis Byrne, Emily Lewis, Rebecca Lewis, Jonathan Lewis Jr., Dennis Lewis, William, Terrence and Makayla Smith, and Ashley and Daniel Lewis Jr.; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Slagle and Charles Benahm; brothers, Edward Lewis and wife, Evelyn, of an Atlanta suburb, Ga., Bill Lewis and wife, Peggy, of an Atlanta suburb, Ga., and Jerry Lewis of Clinton; sisters, Sylvia Brooks of Oak Ridge, Elizabeth Braden and husband, Johnnie, of an Atlanta suburb, Ga., Dorothy Poe and husband, Jerry, of Oak Ridge, Janie Harman and husband, Bill, of Oak Ridge, and Lois Woodruff and husband, Charles, of Oak Ridge. The family received friends on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, from 3 until 4 p.m. at Holley Gamble Funeral Home with a memorial service following in the chapel. The service was officiated by the Rev. Buddy Lewis. Interment followed the service at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton was in charge of the arrangements. Alyce Mortimore, age 86, of Harriman, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Mortimore. She and her family moved to Roane County in 1968 from New Mexico and made their home in Kingston for nearly 40 years. Alyce was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved gardening and crafts. She is survived by daughters, Candy Sharp and husband, Ralph, of Harriman, Linda Bishop and husband, Gary, of Lubbock, Texas, Jane Sampson of Delray Beach, Fla., and Jill Mortimore and husband, Jeff Walker, of Knoxville; son, Freddie Stralow and wife, Stephenie, of Seven Points, Texas; stepson, Bill Mortimore and wife, Jean, of Denver, Colo.; brother, Fred Mueller and wife, Annie, of Lawrence, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. Mary Paul Orme Thompson, 82, of Oak Ridge, passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at the Methodist Medical Center. She was born Nov. 26, 1924, in Somerville, Ala., the daughter of David W. and Cora Lee Orme. Mrs. Thompson retired from the Department of Energy and was an active member of Royce Baptist Church. She was a very caring person who was always thinking of others. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by three sisters, Edith Whaley, Edna Dodson and Aline Baggett; and one brother, Carl Orme. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Terry E. Thompson; daughter, Myra Coots and husband, Erwin, of Harriman; son, Tommy Thompson and wife, Judy, of Oak Ridge; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Rick Miller officiating. Her grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family asks that any memorials be in the form of contributions to Royce Baptist Church, 131 LaSalle Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. Weatherford Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
