    2. ALEXANDER, PEGGY ANN - age 59 of Loudon passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at her sister's home in Knoxville, with family by her side. She had fought a courageous battle with lung cancer during this past year. Peggy was a well loved wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt, and godmother. She was a long time member of Kim Watt Baptist Church, retired from Allied Products Corporation after 19 years and belonged to the Women of the Moose's Lodge. Peggy enjoyed being with her family, reading, and spending time in Townsend . She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Frankie Courtney. Survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Donald Alexander; daughter, Melissa Mathena; stepdaughter; Jennifer Bailey; granddaughter, Hannah Bailey; and godson, Alex Creel. Brothers, Walter James Courtney, Jack Courtney and wife Patricia; sisters, Bobbie Epps and husband Lawrence, Christine Walker and husband Ronnie, Patsy Ridenour; and a dear aunt, Christine Mynatt, all of Knoxville. She al! so leaves behind several special brother & sister-in-laws, nephews, nieces and cousins. Peggy will be missed by many and she will live in our hearts forever. She grew up in Norris, Tennessee, graduating from Norris High School in 1956. She received her RN degree from the Baptist School of Nursing in Memphis in 1959 and later served as a faculty member of the school. In 1973, she moved to Heber Springs with her family and was active in many local organizations including the Opti-Mrs Club and Cub Scouts. She earned a Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Central Arkansas in 1982. She is survived by three sons: Tom Hayes of Little Rock, Arkansas, Burt (and wife Melissa) Hayes of Memphis, Tennessee, and Jason (and wife Tracy) Hayes of Little Rock.
