    2. ADAMS, MARY ELIZABETH WEIGEL - 69, of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of Painesville, Ohio, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, October 22, 2007 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a deeply devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She was a faithful woman who gave her life to loving and caring for her family, protecting them, teaching them, and supporting them. Her sense of humor and unique perspective to any given situation were inspiring and uplifting to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents Doris Leimgruber Weigel and Fred Weigel of Painesville, Ohio. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Monroe Adams; her children, Amy Duncan (spouse Richard), Christine Adams, Frederick Adams (spouse Denise), Lucy Adams, and Andrew Adams (spouse Kristi); nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her beloved sister and brother, Martha Weigel Walker and Joseph Weigel (spouse Patty). She was a beloved "Mimi" to her grandchildr! en and great-grandchildren, and a favorite aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She was a dear friend to many and will be missed by all who loved her. Mrs. Jenkins was born in McMinn County, TN on July 30, 1917. She married Bernard Jenkins in 1940 and moved to Oak Ridge in 1944. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She worked as Deputy Clerk for the Anderson County Clerk's office from 1966 to 1989 when she retired at the age of seventy-one. She was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, and proud great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Selena M. Thompson, Mary S. McCaslin, Emma L. LUCAS, COLONEL RAY DIVEN - age 89, of Knoxville (formerly Mascot), passed away Saturday, October 20, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center after complications from hip fracture surgery. Colonel was born in Homer City, Pennsylvania on May 6, 1918. He was married for 32 years to Hilda Havel and they had 2 children, Martha Jane and Kathy Margaret. He proudly served with honor and distinction in the U.S. Army during WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Upon retirement from the army, he worked for the Panama Canal Company, U.S. Canal Zone, Panama. He then retired to Knoxville in 1974, where he met and was happily married to Betty Webster. They loved to travel, and Colonel was an avid sports fan of the Tennessee Vols and Pittsburgh Steelers. His love of life, family and wonderful sense of humor will always be remembered by everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.
