She was a deeply devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She was a faithful woman who gave her life to loving and caring for her family, protecting them, teaching them, and supporting them. LUCAS, COLONEL RAY DIVEN - age 89, of Knoxville (formerly Mascot), passed away Saturday, October 20, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center after complications from hip fracture surgery. Colonel was born in Homer City, Pennsylvania on May 6, 1918. He was married for 32 years to Hilda Havel and they had 2 children, Martha Jane and Kathy Margaret. He proudly served with honor and distinction in the U.S. Army during WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Upon retirement from the army, he worked for the Panama Canal Company, U.S. Canal Zone, Panama. He then retired to Knoxville in 1974, where he met and was happily married to Betty Webster. They loved to travel, and Colonel was an avid sports fan of the Tennessee Vols and Pittsburgh Steelers. His love of life, family and wonderful sense of humor will always be remembered by everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.
