Doug was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and received his PE from the University of Tennessee. He was a Professional Engineer of Bechtel Corp from 1978 until his retirement in 2003. He was a veteran of the U S Army serving in Germany. He was a member of A.S.C.E. and the American Legion. Doug was an avid golfer, wood worker and boater. She was a member of New Salem United Methodist Church. Irma graduated from Young High School and received a B.Sc. degree in education from The University of Tennessee. A retired school teacher, Irma taught 37 1/2 years in the Knox County and Blount County School Systems. Most of her career, she taught second grade. Many of her former students remembered her and have commented that she was "the best teacher I ever had." A wonderful cook, Irma took pleasure in preparing meals for family and friends. No one has succeeded in replicating her Thanksgiving cornbread dressing, though many have tried. Irma was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. (Jeff) Bodenheimer, a longtime employee of The Knoxville News Sentinel; parents, Frank O. and Nellie Goddard Hall; daughters, Irma Jane and Patricia Nell Bodenheimer; son, Patrick Lee Bodenheimer; grandson, Bryan Lee! She was born August 8, 1919, in Texarkana, TX, to Lovell N. Gaunt and Willie B Moores Gaunt. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Knoxville. After living for short periods in New York City and El Dorado, AR, she grew up in Shreveport, LA. She graduated from Bird High School, and later graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. Margie married Myron (Monty) Oothoudt Morehous in 1942. Her husband's work involved frequent moves, and she lived in towns and cities in the eastern U.S. residing in London, England for 11 years. During that time, she created and taught a course in women's tailored clothing in Chicago and London. When she and her husband moved to England, she became an avid student and collector of antiques, and upon returning to the States she be-came an antique dealer in New Jersey. Margie graduated f! rom Eng-land's renown Attingham Summer School and for 18 years taught a course on American antiques for UT's noncredit department. She also worked for 17 years in The Gallery of Proffitt's West Town, becoming the department store chain's top sales-person two years in a row. Margie was a devoted and loving wife and mother and possessed a bold streak of independence. She was preceded in death by her husband Monty, her parents; and her sister Mary Ann Taggart. She is survived by her son, Lynn Morehous; daughter-in-law Fran Morehous; grandsons Dave Morehous and wife Amy and John Morehous and wife Becca; great granddaughters Emily Morehous, Katherine Morehous, and Sara Morehous; numerous loving nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of many wonderful friends throughout the U.S. and England. Tommy owned and operated Watkins Asphalt Paving. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jefferson City. He was currently serving as chairman of the Jefferson County Election Commission. He was preceded in death by parents, Britt and Ethel Watkins; and brother, Bill Watkins. He is survived by wife, Betty Watkins; daughter, Shelia Wiggins and husband John; grandsons, Andy and Luke Wiggins; nieces, Linda Phillips and Brenda Watkins and great-nieces, Carla Watkins, Leslie Strader, and Lacy Phillips. Burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens with graveside service. Friends may call at the home 529 Hwy 11E, New Market at their convenience on Friday and Saturday, October 12 and 13. WIDENER, RUBY HARRELL STOUT - age 94 went to be with the Lord, October 10, 2007. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, and special aunt, and was loved by all who knew her. Member of Rutledge Pike Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husbands, Clarence Stout, father of her children, and Russell Widener; parents, Mary and Coram Harrell; and several brothers and sisters; daughter, Frances Hodge; son, Robert Wayne; and grandson, Dewayne Taylor. Survivors include daughters and their husbands, Mary Faye Pilgrim Buckner and Jimmy of Crossville, Ruby and Benny Foster of Mascot; sister, Pauline Dockins of Maryville; several grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services will be 8:00 pm Friday, October 12, 2007 in the chapel at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Bailey and Rev. Mike Viles officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:15 am Saturday at Bridges Funeral Home and proceed to ! Asbury Cemetery for a 10:00 am interment.
