McCORMICK, MRS. EMILY A., of Lancing, died on October 22, 2007. She slipped away peacefully in her sleep after a brief, but hard-fought battle against renal cancer. Emily was a faithful member of Shady Grove Church in Lancing. She was born on September 17, 1922 in Lancing. Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Ray Melton and Armilda Katherine (Aunt Millie) Potter Melton of Lancing; three brothers: Emerson Melton of Powell, TN, Edward Melton of Bakersfield, CA, and Arthur Melton of Lancing, TN.She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law: Roy and Jewell Melton of Jellico, TN and Ola and Coleen Melton of Lancing, TN; two sisters: Elma Howard and Nina Watson, both of Lancing; Two daughters and their husbands: Margaret and Bobby Collins of Spring Valley, CA and Linda and Robin Marmon of Lancing, TN; seven grandchildren and their spouses: Steve (and Liz) Collins of Santee, Ca; Danny (and Cheryl) Collins of Santee, CA; Kim (and Peter) Pasche of Parkland, FL; Cody Marmon of Lancing, TN; Robyn (and Greg) Bunch of Lancing, TN; Jennifer (and Phillip) Detrick of Wartburg, TN; and Sean (and Tori) Marmon of Murayama-shi Yamagate-kin, Japan.Constantly surrounded by her great-grandchildren, she deeply loved all twenty of them, Jessica Collins, Danny Collins, Sheena Morgan, Tawny Grimm, Hunter Collins and Melissa Collins, all of Santee, CA.
