SOLOMON, MRS. BARBARA JEAN McCOY, age 68, passed away October 16, 2007 in the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, suffering from illness complications, received from a motor vehicle accident. She was retired from Alba Health in Rockwood. She was preceded in death by her parents: Bill McCoy and Nellie Stringfield.She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Elmer Solomon; sister: Billie and husband, Steve Sweat; nephews: Gabe Pressley and Kennon Reed III; nieces: Angela Wilson and Sasha Reed; great-nephews: Jessie Pressley and Mike Schubert; aunts: Barbara Macklin, Betty Armes, and Mabel Armes; uncle: Bunk Stringfield; sisters-in-law: Judy and Brenda; wonderful friends: Vic and Audrey Jeffers, and Johnny and Geraldine Reynolds; and numerous cousins. Mrs. Hawn was born March 11, 1928 in Harriman. She lived in Morgan County for twenty-five years before moving to Oliver Springs 38 years ago.She was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother. She was also a member of the Family Worship Center in the Stephens Community of Morgan County. She was preceded in death by her husband; Vester Hawn, by parents; Sam Huston Cagley and Pearl Beard Cagley, by two sons; Vester Jackson Hawn and William Maynard Hawn, by three daughters; Geraldine Ruth Duncan, Frances Pearl Ellison, and Betsy Marie Ray, by two brothers; Jesse Cagley and Johnny McPherson, and by a sister; Zola Mae Coghill. She is survived by daughters; Carolyn Underwood and husband Bud of Kingston, Margaret York and husband Jim of Oliver Springs, Patricia Shubert and husband Joe of Cleveland, Rose Freeman and husband Danny of Riceville, Zola Brown and husband Tony of Oliver Springs, Rebecca Kendig and husband Butch of Clinton. She has three sons; James Hawn and wife Sarah of Harriman, Ronnie Hawn and wife Ethel of Clinton, and Joseph Hawn of Oliver Springs. She is also survived by 39 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She has one brother, Tom McPherson, Jr. of Indiana.
