He was of the Pentecostal Faith and retired from General Motors Corporation. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas Bratcher, Sr. and Jessie Spitzer Bratcher; brother, James Thomas Bratcher, Jr. and sister, Mary Lou. LaFollette Press June 14, 2007 Alice Carroll Brock, age 90 of LaFollette formerly of Lake City passed away June 9 at the Tri State Health and Rehab in Harrogate. She was a member of Beechfork Baptist Church. She was a member of the Campbell County Senior Citizens. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and raising her flowers. She worked in several area restaurants and loved making biscuits. She was preceded in death by her husband, Link Brock; parents, Calvin and Bethannie Phillips Carroll; sons, Ernest, Leon and Frank Brock; daughter, Christine Kosta; grandson, Jeremy Link Brock. LaFollette Press June 21, 2007 Anna Lillian Brown, age 76, of LaFollette, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 12 at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the second child born of Nannie and Clarence (Sparky) Brown, formerly of Jellico. She was a loving, caring and faithful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife and friend who touched the lives of many people. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her. She was a member of the F irst Baptist Church of LaFollette. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence B. Brown, Sr. and Nannie Williams Brown; brother, Clarence B. Brown, Jr., and daughter, Linda Lou Brown. LaFollette Press June 21, 2007 Harry Cureton, age 71 of LaFollette passed away suddenly June 12. He was a member of Forrest Hills Baptist Church in Parrotsville, TN. He served with the FBI in Washington, DC, a Tennessee State Trooper and was the Campbell County Sheriff for 12 years. He was owner of Cureton Construction Co., and currently worked for the Campbell County Board of Education Maintenance Dept. His family was his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ottie Maloy Cureton; brother, James Cureton; sister, Ruby Stuart. LaFollette Press June 21, 2007 Dorothy Spangenberg Hill, age 80 of 14146 Gardner Avenue, Waynesboro PA passed away at 3:55 a.m. on June 15 at her home. She was born March 7, 1927 in San Francisco, CA to the late Wesley and Kate Duke Spangenberg. She lived her early life in the San Francisco area. She graduated from Commerce High School, San Francisco, with the class of 1944. She later graduated from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson, TN, with a Masters Degree in Education. She and her husband, the late Glen E. Hill were married on December 24, 1945 in Lake Tahoe, NV. They moved to 311 West Seventh Street, Waynesboro in 1971. He passed away on March 23, 2002 and she moved to her present residence following the death of her husband. She taught at Wynn-Habersham High School in Tennessee, after moving to the local area she was an educator at various locations in the area. She was last employed for the Department of Aging in Chambersburg, PA. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Waynesboro. She was also a member of the National Educators Associating and Tri-State Base of Submarine Veterans, Inc. She was a former member of First Baptist Church of LaFollette. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family. She was the last of her immediate family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dan Hill; grandson, Shawn Hill; sister, Priscilla Reed; brother, Richard Spangenberg. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Hill Young of Waynesboro; sons, Jeff Hill of Waynesboro, Ron Hill of Newport, PA, Dave Hill of Chicago, IL; grandchildren: Sarah Young of Waynesboro, Joshua and Rebecca Hill of Fairfield, PA; a number of nieces and nephews. Norman age 69 of Lafollette passed away on June 15 due to sudden onset of leukemia. She was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church and retired after more than 30 years as an optometrist's assistant. . Many family and friends surrounded Susie. She enjoyed sitting on her back porch, quilting and embroidery, as well as spending time with family and friends. She looked forward to vacations and loved doing what made her happy. She was a sweet, compassionate, and joyful person who leaves and enormous void in so many lives. She was preceded in death by husband of 35 years Elwood C. Norman; parents, America Smith Minton and Burlie W. Minton; and sister Eva Elkins. She is survived by her daughter, Angela J. Chaffin of Caryville; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Karen Norman of Johnson City; granddaughter, Heather Smyrl and husband Tim of Cumming, Georgia; and grandsons Andrew and Eric Norman of Johnson City. LaFollette Press June 21, 2007 George Fletcher Parker, age 80 of Andersonville, went home to be with the Lord at 2:30 a.m. on June 13. He was a resident of St. Mary's Hospice after a lengthy illness at home. He was born June 4, 1927 in Anderson County. He was retired Boiler Technician from TVA. Prior to working for TVA, he worked construction and served in the U.S. Marines and assisted in forming the National Guard unit 278. He also served in the U.S. Air Force. George was a Master and 32nd Degree Mason. He enjoyed the lake, fishing, boating, and working around his home and yard. He also very much enjoyed spending time with his wife, seven children, grandchildren and many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. George C. Parker; mother, Minnie Galbraith Parker; brothers, James Edward Parker and Jesse James Parker; sister, Wilma Jean Parker; beloved mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alice and Arnold Seward, and beloved son-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frances Marion Siler; sons, Arvil and Abner Siler; brothers, Clay, Earnest and Elbert Ayers; sister, Nanny Scott; half-brothers, Jerry and Walter Ayers and half-sisters, Ada Ayers, Laura Scott and Martha Ayers.
