Bewley, age 64, of Farragut Corinna "Connie" Murray Lawlor, age 74, of Knoxville, Jimmy Wayne Lively, age 46, a resident of Coalfield, Beverly Marie Preston, 83, of Oak Ridge, Dale H. Bewley, age 64, of Farragut, a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, June 19, 2007, after an extended battle with esophageal cancer. Dale was a member of First Baptist Church, Concord, where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years. Dale graduated from Vine Grove High School and the University of Kentucky with Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in metallurgical engineering. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Murray State University, and had his Professional Engineering License. After spending 14 years at the Paducah, Ky., gaseous diffusion plant, and 14 years with Martin Marietta Energy Systems in Oak Ridge, he retired as director of quality for the five plants in Oak Ridge, Tenn., Paducah, Ky., and Portsmith, Ohio. During his career, he served on various state committees for conservation of energy. He also served 14 years as technical member of Baptist Hospital's Institutional Review Board. Dale was a man of extraordinary faith, and his love of people led him to eagerly reach out to others which triggered his love of missions. He made trips to Brazil, China, Thailand, and Nicaragua. He was a person who truly loved life and people. He always showed great compassion and was an inspiration to those who knew him. He will always be remembered for his strong character, dependability, generosity and positive attitude. He also enjoyed sports and was an ardent UK basketball fan. The family wish to thank all those who helped and assisted during his extended illness. He was preceded in death by his late parents, Henry Forrest and Nell Stovall Bewley of Radcliff, Ky.; and a brother, Major Ronald Bewley. He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Marion Hutcherson Bewley; loving daughters and son-in-law, Michele and Gillen Young of Alpharetta, Ga., and Marsha Bewley of Seattle, Wash.; grandsons, Alex and Brandon Young, of which he was so proud; father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Hutcherson of Elizabethtown, Ky.; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and David Hayes of Campbellsville, Ky.; brothers and sister-in-law, James Gaylord and Kathy Bewley of Monument, Colo., David Earl and Carmen Bewley of Crestview, Fla., Robert Mark Bewley of Radcliff, Ky.; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Bewley of Brownsville, Texas, Carolyn Hutcherson Semones and husband, Sherill, of Louisville, Ky.; and nieces and nephews, Andy Hayes, Amy Hayes Lindroth, Bryan, Steve, and Karen Bewley, Angela and Kyla Bewley, Liz Bewley Loewecke, Melissa Bewley Muzquiz and Angela Bewley, Steve, Jeff, and Bryan Riney, and Teresa Riney Harris. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday followed by a Celebration of Life Service at First Baptist Church, Concord, with Dr. Doug Sager and the Rev. Larry Boyles officiating. A private interment service will be held Saturday. Pallbearers will be Bill Carder, Dennis Cope, David Folz, Cliff Hsieh, Steve Prinz, Paul Standifer, Don Walker, and Barry Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Barber, Hogue Crossley, Joe Dorsey, Lynn Foster, Greg Geiger, Dale Hedges, Bob Hulsey, David Lankford, Mike Murphy, Bob Myers, Tim Patterson, Bill Sykes, and Bill Thompson. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. Corinna "Connie" Murray Lawlor, age 74, of Knoxville, passed away, June 20, 2007. She was born and raised in Knoxville, later residing in Washington, D.C., where she attended art school and met her future husband, John J. Lawlor Sr. She lived a number of years in Miami, Fla., and later moved to Oak Ridge, where she retired from the Oak Ridge Utility District. Connie was well-known in the area as a landscape and portrait artist. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lawlor Sr.; parents, Ernest Murray and Flora Whaley Murray; sister, Betty Long; and a brother, Ernest Murray Jr. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Gary Wright; sons, John Lawlor Jr., Kevin Lawlor and wife, Tersa, of Oak Ridge, Terrence Lawlor and wife, Krista, of Norris; grandchildren, Kelly and Matthew Wright, Phillip and Janet Lawlor, Shawn Lawlor, and Bailey Lawlor; great-grandchildren, Evie Lawlor and Andrew Lawlor; sisters, Hazel Moody, Noami Murray, and Patricia Shown; and a host of other family. The service will be at 8 p.m. Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City with Pastor Phil Jones officiating. Jimmy Wayne Lively, age 46, a resident of Coalfield, died Monday, June 18, 2007, at his home. Jimmy was born May 10, 1961, in Oak Ridge. He lived in Dayton, Ohio, for two years. Jimmy was a disabled brick mason who enjoyed outdoor activities and sports. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, L.W. Lively. Survivors include his wife, Donna Adkins Lively, of Oliver Springs; mother, Vonnie Conatser Lively, of Kingston; children, Sarah Beth Lively of Oliver Springs, Derek Lively Currier and wife, Brittany, of Harriman, Lindsey Lively Currier of Harriman; grandchildren, Riley, Kiley, and Reed Currier, all of Harriman; brother, Douglas Lively and wife, Debbie, of Coalfield; sisters, Patricia Coker and husband, Randy, of Kingston, and Susan Gilbert of Knoxville; special nieces and nephews, Kasie Gilbert of Knoxville, Tracey McPeek of California, Amber Russell of Kingston, and Joshua Coker of Rhea County; great-nieces and nephews, Skylar Abner, Hawk Russell, Taylor McPeek, and Haley McPeek. She was born July 21, 1923, in Black Mountain, N.C., the daughter of Charles Columbus Godfrey and Marie Thompson Godfrey. Mrs. Preston worked for many years as secretary with the Herron-Connell Insurance Agency. She was an avid bridge player and member of several bridge clubs. She loved to travel and enjoyed books and reading. She was also a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Hunter Platt on June 25, 1979, and Dr. Lewis F. Preston on March 24, 2006. She is survived by her daughter, Jody Warren and her husband, William, of Chula Vista, Calif.; grandson, Stuart Warren, a senior at the University of Illinois in Urbana, Champaign, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews; stepdaughters, SuAnn Vandevelde and husband, Russ, of Birmingham, Ala., Marilyn Danielson and husband, Myron, of Lebanon, Tenn., Mary Lewis Preston of Atlanta, Ga., Nancy Curtright and husband, David, of Knoxville and Debbie Clary and husband, Tom, of Oak Ridge; stepsons, Fred Preston and wife, Janice, of Oak Ridge and John Preston and wife, Jan, of Knoxville; half-sister, Dorothy Williams of Springfield, Va.; special family friend, Susan Slover of Oak Ridge; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Fourth Floor West of Methodist Medical Center for the care and compa ssion shown to Mrs. Preston.
