BEWLEY, DALE H. - age 64 of Farragut, a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather, went to be with his Lord & Savior Tuesday, June 19, 2007 after an extended battle with esophageal cancer. Dale was a member of First Baptist Church, Concord, where he served as Deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. Dale graduated from Vine Grove High School and The University of Kentucky with BS and MS degrees in Metallurgical Engineering. He earned his MBA degree from Murray State University, and had his Professional Engineering License. After spending 14 years at the Paducah, Kentucky gaseous diffusion plant, and 14 years with Martin Marietta Energy Systems, Oak Ridge, he retired as Director of Quality for the five plants in Oak Ridge, TN; Paducah, KY and Portsmith, OH. During his career, he served on various state committees for conservation of energy. He also served 14 years as technical member of Baptist Hospital's Institutional Review Board. Dale was a man of extraordinary faith, and his love of people led him to eagerly reach out to others which triggered his love of missions. He made trips to Brazil, China, Thailand, and Nicaragua. He was a person who truly loved life and people. He always showed great compassion and was an inspiration to those who knew him. He will always be remembered for his strong character, dependability, generosity and positive attitude. He also enjoyed sports and was an ardent UK basketball fan. The family wish to thank all those who helped and assisted during his extended illness. He is preceded in death by his late parents, Henry Forrest and Nell Stovall Bewley of Radcliff, KY; brother, Major Ronald Bewley. A faithful member of Union Baptist Church, as a young man, Harley joined the Civilian Conservation Corp. Following his service in CCC, he joined the Army. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Italy and Africa. Harley worked as a mechanic and retired from TIME-DC Freight Lines. He is a member of TIME retirees club as well as Teamsters 519 Retirees Club. Preceded in death by parents, Albert and Hassie Carroll; siblings, Charlie, Bud, Kyle, Lillie, and J.D. as well as several nieces and nephews. AILEEN CLAIBORNE - age 87 of Cookeville, formerly of LaFollette, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville. Mrs. Crowder was born August 16, 1919 in LaFollette, Tennessee where she spent most of her life. She was a member of LaFollette United Methodist Church, and attended Lincoln Memorial University where she earned a teaching certificate. Mrs. Crowder retired from teaching 5th grade at West LaFollette Elementary School in 1981. She was preceded in death by husband, Hugh Crowder, and her parents, Martha and Gene Claiborne. DABBS, ALLTON "TINTY" LEE 83, died June 17, 2007 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, TN. Mr. Dabbs was born November 6, 1923 in Hohenwald, a son of the late Rufus Walker and Cicily Smith Dabbs. He was married to Bernice Virginia Peevyhouse on June 7, 1947 in Morehead City, NC. He was retired from Dupont in Columbia after 33 years of service with the company. Mr. Dabbs was also a World War II Army Veteran and was a member of the Little Swan Church of Christ.
