Currier, age 83, from Clinton, James Melvin "Jimbob" Daugherty, 51, of Oak Ridge, Joanne King, age 47, of Clinton, Tenn., Wilma Corbin, age 63, a resident of Knoxville, Robert L. Currier, age 83, from Clinton, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Mr. Currier was born July 27, 1923, here in Anderson County to the late George and Essie Currier. He was veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of Moran Baptist Church. He enjoyed raising a garden and the outdoors. Mr. Currier is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dorothy "Dot" Currier; his niece, Mary Nipper and her husband, Perry; good friends, Helen Compton and Gene Jones; and several others nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 29, 2007, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Seiber officiating. Graveside services will be Saturday, June 30, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, June 29, 2007, from 5 until to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. James Melvin "Jimbob" Daugherty, 51, of Oak Ridge, passed away at the University of Tennessee Medical Center at Knoxville on Monday, June 25, 2007. He was born Jan. 25, 1956, to Ben and Sue Jenkins Daugherty. He was raised and attended school in Melbourne, Fla., moving to Oak Ridge with his family in 1970. Jimbob was a barber by profession. He loved motorcycles, animals and racing. He was an active committee member of the Anderson County Toy Run Inc., and Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1316. Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Daugherty. Survivors include his father, Ben Fowler Daugherty of Nashville, daughters, Chancey Ellaine Carathers of Oak Ridge, and Rebecca Daugherty of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Aaliyah Mae and Marick Isaiah Carathers; brother, Larry Daugherty of Houston, Texas; uncle, Jimmy Daugherty of Petros; and several nieces and nephews. Jimbob was a member of the Anderson County Toy Run family and especially close to his self-adopted sister, Susan Roberta "Suebob" East. Following his wishes, Jimbob's body was cremated and his ashes will be scattered privately at a later date. A remembrance gathering will be held for family and friends on Saturday, July 14, 2007, from 5 until 7 p.m. in the meeting room at the Moose Lodge, 103 N. Jefferson Circle, Oak Ridge, Tenn. Schubert Funeral Home of Wartburg is serving the Daugherty family. Joanne King, age 47, of Clinton, Tenn., passed away Monday, June 25, 2007, at her home in Clinton. Joanne was a wonderful wife and mother with a great lust for life and Sam Elliott ("Ooh, That's My Man"). Joanne was bold, brazen and outspoken; a friend to all she met and always the first one there to help someone in need. Joanne's passing leaves a huge void, which may never be filled. Joanne was preceded in death by her father, Harry VanPelt; and aunt, Judy. She left behind her mother, Theresa VanPelt of Dallas, Texas; her husband, Joseph King of Clinton, Tenn.; son, Steven Michael VanPelt of Houston, Texas; daughter, Sara Beth King of Clinton, Tenn.; sisters, Christine VanPelt of Texas, Lisa Arnold of Texas, and Amy Thornton of Texas; brothers-in-law, Mark Overton and Dave Hitcheon; cousin, Tre; and a plethora of dear friends. Joanne's family will receive her friends on Friday, June 29, 2007, from 6 until 8 p.m. with funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Mortuary. Interment will be Saturday, June 30, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Woodhaven Memorial Garden in Claxton, Tenn. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, Tenn., is in charge of all arrangements. Wilma Corbin, age 63, a resident of Knoxville, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at Hillcrest North Health Care Center in Knoxville.
