>From The Oak Ridger 22 Jun 2007 Robert Wayne Boyd, age 61, of Mitchell, Ga., Betty Strickland Hendrickson, age 78, Robert Redmond Jr., 92, of Oak Ridge, David Jason Williams, 34, of Oak Ridge, Robert Wayne Boyd, age 61, of Mitchell, Ga., passed away Sunday, June 17, 2007, in Georgia. Robert was born Dec. 12, 1945, in Oak Ridge, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Ewell Boyd. He attended Oliver Springs High School and later joined the United States Navy in 1966, where he served as a submarine radio technician. An avid outdoorsman, Robert retired after 30 years employment with General Motors Corporation. Preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Boyd. Robert is survived by his son, Chris G. Boyd, of Dallas, Ga.; two daughters, Debbie A. Boyd and Rachel Parker, both of Dallas, Ga.; three brothers, James Boyd and Danny Boyd, both of Oak Ridge, and Louis Boyd of Georgia; a sister, Deborah Runkles of Athens, Ga.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Betty Strickland Hendrickson, age 78, passed away at her home in Oak Ridge on Wednesday, June 20, 2007. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Bennie F. Hendrickson; her sons, Larry Hendrickson and David Hendrickson; her mother, Lura Strickland; and her father, Edd Strickland. She was born and reared in the Wheat community. She was retired from the Y-12 Plant of Lockheed Martin. She was a charter member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Harriman. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Ron and Wanda Todd of Simpsonville, S.C.; granddaughters, the Rev. Rachel Poysky and her husband, Dr. James Poysky, of Houston, Texas, and Dr. Ruth Ann Nevils of Rutherfordton, N.C.; grandson, Bradley and wife Elizabeth Todd of Alexandria, Va.; grandson, Tyler Hendrickson; grandson, Jeremy Hendrickson and wife, Brenda, of Long Beach, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Joel and Hallie Poysky of Houston, Texas, and Alyssa Hendrickson of Long Beach, Calif.; beloved friend, Tom Barger of Harriman; brothers-in-law, Hoyt Hendrickson and wife, Edna, of Griffin, Ga., and Richard Corinna "Connie" Murray Lawlor, age 74, of Knoxville, passed away, June 20, 2007. She was born and raised in Knoxville, later residing in Washington, D.C., where she attended art school and met her future husband, John J. Lawlor Sr. She lived a number of years in Miami, Fla., and later moved to Oak Ridge, where she retired from the Oak Ridge Utility District. Connie was well-known in the area as a landscape and portrait artist. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lawlor Sr.; parents, Ernest Murray and Flora Whaley Murray; sister, Betty Long; and a brother, Ernest Murray Jr. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Gary Wright; sons, John Lawlor Jr., Kevin Lawlor and wife, Teresa, of Oak Ridge, Terrence Lawlor and wife, Krista, of Norris; grandchildren, Kelly and Matthew Wright, Phillip and Janet Lawlor, Sean Lawlor, and Bailey Lawlor; great-grandchildren, Evie Lawlor and Andrew Lawlor; sisters, Hazel Moody, Noami Murray, and Patricia Shown; and a host of other family. The service will be at 8 p.m. Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City with Pastor Phil Jones officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Oak Ridge Memorial Park for interment at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City.
