Bemis Jr., PhD, age 67, of Jupiter, Fla., Robyn Elaine Hutchinson Deaver, age 49, of Clinton, Tenn., Romeo Franklin Greene, age 77, of Maryville, Ada L. Okes, age 72, of Knoxville, Tenn., Mark Wayne Arnold, age 50, of Knoxville, died suddenly Sunday, June 23, 2007, at his home. He was a software design engineer with ORNL and was an avid woodworker and photographer. Mark enjoyed cooking for his family and friends and was a true animal lover, especially to his beloved cat, Bonnie, and dog, Teddy. Mark was a creative, intelligent individual who was a loving husband and devoted father who always loved to make you laugh. Mark will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Ginger, and his most proud accomplishments, his daughters, Emily and Erin Arnold. Mark is also survived by his aunt, Dee Pugh, and cousins, Tim Stephens, Shana Brewer and Mike Brewer; mother-in-law, Anjil Mitchell; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim and Rhonda Mitchell, Wesley and Carole Mitchell, Marylou and Larry Wilson, and Gina and Danny Haggard. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Pastor David Brass officiating. Bemis Jr., PhD, age 67, of Jupiter, Fla., passed away on June 21, 2007. Dr. Bemis was born in Boston, Mass., and grew up in Manchester, N.H. He received his BS in chemistry from the University of New Hampshire and his PhD in nuclear chemistry from MIT. He was also a Fullbright Scholar at the Nobel Institute in Stockholm. He moved to Oak Ridge, Tenn., in 1965 and worked for the Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a nuclear physicist. After retiring from ORNL in 1994, he moved to San Jose, Calif., and worked for Cisco Systems as a senior engineer. He was a member of several professional societies including Sigma Xi scientific research society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He moved to Jupiter, Fla., in 1999 where he enjoyed boating, SCUBA diving, tennis, genealogy and his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gina Anne; his two daughters, Lisa Bemis Hardy and her husband, David, of Huntsville, Ala., and Lynn Cheatham and her husband, Bentley, of Durham, N.C.; his four grandchildren, Adam and Elizabeth Hardy, and Jake and Casey Cheatham; his sister, Rhoda Flebotte of Manchester, N.H.; and his brother, Clark S. Bemis of Augusta, Ga. He was preceded in death by his third daughter, Wendy Bemis Kemp. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Robyn Elaine Hutchinson Deaver, age 49, of Clinton, Tenn., passed away Monday, June 25, 2007, at the St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn. She was surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Deaver was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church in Andersonville, Tenn. Ms. Deaver was a former Deputy of the Anderson County Sheriff's Department and an employee with Boeing Aircraft. Robyn was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Hattie Ridenour and Wayne and Maude Hutchinson; and an uncle, Robert "Bob" Ridenour. She will be sadly missed by survivors: her parents, Milton and Wilma Hutchinson of Clinton, Tenn.; daughter, Danyelle (Deaver) and husband, Danny McFee, of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; sons, Kelley Deaver and fianc e, Emily Humphrey, of Clinton, Tenn., and Matthew Deaver and fianc e, Billie Blair, of Clinton, Tenn.; sister, Rhonda and husband, Mike Manley, of Clinton, Tenn.; brothers, Bob and Jon Hutchinson of Clinton, Tenn.; grandchildren, Kasidee Barton and Lily McFee; nieces and nephews, Milton and Vivian Manley, Hope, Dakota and Kanani Hutchinson, and Cheyanna Dellelo, all of Clinton, Tenn.; lifelong friend and godfather of Robyn's children, Mark Lucas; special aunt, Joan Ridenour of Clinton, Tenn.; and several cousins and a host of other family and friends. Robyn's family will receive her friends Wednesday, June 27, 2007, from 6 until 8 p.m. with funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with the Rev. Hillard Harless officiating. Interment will be Thursday, June 28, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Andersonville, Tenn. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, Tenn., is in charge of all arrangements. Romeo Franklin Greene, age 77, of Maryville, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2007. Romeo served in the Armed Forces and was a graduate of Chicago Technical Institute with a degree in BSME. For years, Romeo was an active member of New Providence Presbyterian Church in Maryville. He served as Boy Scout leader for Troop 80, served as Superintendent of the Sunday school at Home Avenue Chapel, and was active with the local Boys Club. In 1961, Romeo was named Blount County's Outstanding Young Man of the Year by the Jaycees for his support and service to his community. He was employed at Y-12 in Oak Ridge for over 35 years where he played a major role in the design of the Apollo 11 moonbox which was used to transport the first lunar samples from the moon. Romeo was one of the first dozen Union Carbide engineers to be issued a P.E. license by the state of Tennessee in 1965. His hobbies included basketball, softball, hiking, painting, guitar, music and fishing. Survivors include daughters, Cathy Barham of Knoxville, and Gail Toler of Georgia; grandson, Greg Stipes, and great-granddaughter, Samantha Stipes, both of Georgia; brothers and sisters, Sam Greene, Ben Greene, Dorothy Gregory, Gaynell Holstein, and Judy Farrell, all of Maryville, and Sylvia McNeill of Mississippi, along with several nieces and nephews; and his wife, Janie Greene of Knoxville. Romeo touched many lives and will sadly be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Receiving of friends will be Wednesday, June 27, 2007, from 6 until 7:30 p.m. with a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville. She was born in Knoxville, Tenn., to parents Owen O. and Billie Joe Strader Okes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Owen O. Okes Jr; niece, Kathy Alexander; and nephew, John Reece. Survivors include her sisters, Alma Hartley of Packwood, Wash., Dorothy Thompson of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Mable Veal of Hartwell, Ga., Patty Reece of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Phyllis Lemons of Ferndale, Mich.; brothers, Danny Okes of Kennesaw, Ga., and Oscar Okes of Hartwell, Ga.; and many nieces and nephews. Being a high-spirited individual helped Ada overcome many hurdles in her life. She was a very loving and giving person. Her favorite pastime was giving gifts to her friends and family.
