Forrester, age 82, of Clinton, Jimmy Rodney Owens, age 41, a resident of Oliver Springs, Cecil Leroy Smith, age 78, a resident of Clinton, Dorothy Speelman, age 86, of Oak Ridge, William Jason Cox, 77, of Lake City, William C. Forrester, age 82, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, at Briarcliff Health Care Center. Mr. Forrester was born Feb. 26, 1925, in Harlan County, Ky., to Luther S. and Glessie Napier Forrester. Mr. Forrester was a coal operator, owning his own coal mine and trucking company. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was of the Baptist faith and was a big Kentucky Wildcat fan. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles and reading his Cats Paw newspaper. Mr. Forrester was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Virginia Forrester; and one brother, Ed Forrester. He is survived by his wife, Virginia L. Forrester of Clinton; three sons, Lawrence Edward Forrester and wife, Debbie, of High Point, N.C., William David Forrester and wife, Linda, of Cleveland, Tenn., and Michael Allen Forrester of High Point, N.C.; and also by three step-children, Donna Clark of Pennington Gap, Va., David Clark and wife, Sandy, of Jonesboro, Ga., and Deborah Clark of Lexington, Ky.; two sisters, Shirley Oney and Anna Ruth Austin; and by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Rodney was born April 24, 1966 in Oak Ridge. He is a lifelong resident of this area. Rodney worked as an electrician in the construction business. He was a member of the International Brotherhood Of Electrical Workers Local No. 760. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jimmie and Josie Bilbrey Hall, by his paternal grandparents, Willard and Lora Ruffner Owens, by aunts, Marie Dedmon, Mary East, and Johnnie Lomax, and by an uncle, Dicky Owens. He is survived by his parents, James and Pauline Hall Owens of Oliver Springs; sisters, Sheila Rimel and husband, George, of Oak Ridge; Sandra Housley and husband, Freeman, of Winchester, Tenn., Sherri Strickland and husband, Danny, of Oliver Springs, Jennifer Batley and husband, Randy, of Oliver Springs; nephews, Travas Rich, who was a special caregiver, Badih El-Charr, Eric Turner, Nathan and Chris Hughes; niece, Mandy Brown and husband, Derick; great-nephews, Tyler Brown and Elias El-Charr; great-nieces, Breanna Rich and Reliegh Brown. He is also survived by special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many special friends including two childhood friends who were like brothers, Scott Ooten and Mike Swicegood, and another special friend, Bruce Kittrell. The family will receive friends Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Cecil Leroy Smith, age 78, a resident of Clinton, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at his home. Mr. Smith was born March 30, 1929, in Anderson County. He is a lifelong resident of this area. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked in construction and he was employed at Oak Ridge Associated Universities before his retirement. His greatest enjoyment was farming, which was both his after retirement occupation and hobby. He was a faithful member of Moran Baptist Church Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Reynolds Smith, by his parents, Theodore H. Smith and Mollie Godsey Smith, by a sister, Thelma Duncan, and by three brothers, Clyde, Clarence, and Howard Smith. He is survived by his daughter, Toni Phillips and husband, Winford, of Clinton; step-granddaughter, Donna Phillips of Clinton; step-great-grandchildren, Kevin Duncan of Oliver Springs, Tyler Duncan of Las Vegas, and Derek Stanford of Clinton; brother, Lawrence Smith of Clinton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and extended family members. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home with funeral services following in the funeral home chapel at 8 p.m. with the Rev.
