He was 73 years old. He was known and loved for his often creative sense of humor and sincere concern for everyone who knew him. He always wore a smile, never met a stranger, never unkindly judged another human being, and was often known to generously give to anyone in need regardless of his own circumstances. Although he suffered with diabetes and heart disease, he was indeed a selfless individual who always put the needs of others before his own. He will be deeply missed by his many friends and acquaintances as well as his family. WADE, DORA - age 79 of Madisonville, passed away 10:55 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Madisonville. Preceded in death by: sister, Prudie Norman; brothers, John White and James White; aunt, Lillie Tallent. Survivors: brothers, Gene White, Joe White, of Knoxville; cousins, Maxine and Curtis Wood of Madisonville, Kathleen and Kenneth Dalton, Coker Creek, Harold and Lanna Wade, Lynn Wade of Madisonville, Regina Camp of Sweetwater, Omega Wade of Hundly, TX; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Monday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville. WOOD, GERRIE HARRIS - age 78, passed away at home on Friday, August 10th 2007 after a lengthy illness. Up until the past few years, she had been active in several civic activities. She was Past President and a charter member of the Opti-Mrs. Club of South Knoxville. She served for years in the annual March of Dimes campaign; was a Salvation Army bell ringer and South Knoxville Democratic Precinct Captain. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mattie Harris; sister, Billie Harris; and son, Pat Wood, Jr. Survived by sisters, Margaret McNeilly and Frankie Duggins; daughters, Debbie Wood Hyde and husband, Robert Hyde and Kim Wood McClamroch and husband, Mike McClamroch, and grandsons, Aaron Hyde, Thomas Hyde and Michael McClamroch.
