    2. >From The Oak Ridger 17 Aug 2007 Larry Edward Branam, age 41, of Harriman, formerly of Coalfield, Dottie Alvertie Ward Gryder, age 97, Richmond Rondel "Richie" Humphrey, age 57, Robert Lee Queen Sr., 79, of Oak Ridge, John Ker Munro, 95, Larry Edward Branam, age 41, of Harriman, formerly of Coalfield, passed away Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center at Knoxville. He was a former driver for B & B Metals. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jarnigan Branam; and aunts, Rosalind Beasley and Lula Belle Christmas. He is survived by his wife, Bridget Diane Branam of Coalfield; step-daughter, Danielle Williams of Coalfield; step-son, Aaron Gunter of Coalfield; aunts, Virginia Boshears of Jacksboro, and Joyce Jarnigan of Rockwood; and a host of cousins and other family members and friends. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at 2 p.m. in the Coal Hill Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Williams officiating. Jackson-Oliver Mortuary in Oliver Springs is in charge of the arrangements. Dottie Alvertie Ward Gryder, age 97, died Aug. 16, 2007, at NHC HealthCare Center in Oak Ridge. Born July 11, 1910, in Watauga County, N.C., she was the da ughter of Lorenzo Dow and Martha Jane Presnell Ward, both now deceased. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Dwight E. Gryder, of Rockingham, N.C.; brothers, Willard, Raleigh, Claud, and Ed; and sisters, Rosa Elma Guy, Lou Della Ward, Hettie Love, Jennie Tester, Beulah Vines and Lula Higgins. Mrs. Gryder is survived by two sons, Dennis Gryder of Matthews, Va., and Reid Gryder of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Carla and husband, Clint Hall, of Clayton, N.C., Teresa Gryder of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Karen and husband, David Austin, of Knoxville, Tenn.; and two great-grandsons, Christopher and Jason Hall. Dottie worked for newspapers in North Carolina, writing columns and selling advertising. Her work appeared in the Rockingham Post Dispatch, Richmond County Journal, Watauga Democrat, and Wallace Enterprise, and she retired from the Robesonian in Lumberton, N.C., as an advertising executive in 1982. In Oak Ridge, she was active in AARP, and served as the chapter newsletter editor for several years. Private services will be held at a later date. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, any memorials be made to the donor's favorite charity. Weatherford Mortuary of Oak Ridge is in charge of arrangements. Richmond Rondel "Richie" Humphrey, age 57, a wonderful husband, father, and friend, a resident of the Coalhill community in Morgan County, died unexpectedly at his home Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his parents, Jordon and Sibyl Humphrey; a brother, Benny Humphrey; and a grandson, Isaac Corbin. Richie was born and raised in the Coalhill community. He was a member of the Coalhill Baptist Church for over 45 years, song leader for 20 years, and served as a deacon for the last five years. He was a 1967 graduate of Coalfield High School. He had always been a Coalfield High School football fan. He also enjoyed farming, and drag racing. He was known to some as the "Coke Man."He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his wife of 27 years, Ginger Duncan Humphrey, daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Chuck Corbin, grandson Caleb Corbin, and a daughter, Jordan Humphrey, all of Coalhill. He is also survived by future son-in-law and son, Kole and Avery Pritchett of Grimsley; a brother, Donnie F. Humphrey of Harriman; a sister-in-law, Deborah Humphrey of Johnson City; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Coalhill Baptist Church. Burial and graveside services will follow at the Ritter Cemetery. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Robert Lee Queen Sr., 79, of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at the NHC HealthCare Center. He was born Sept. 8, 1927, in Weston, W.Va., the son of Walter L. and Mary V. Smith Queen. Mr. Queen retired from Quality Garage, where he worked for many years as an auto mechanic. His job of working on cars was his passion. He loved tinkering on old cars and received great enjoyment from making things work. He also loved playing with his "granddog," Stonewall. Mr. Queen attended the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Adena Hope Luzader Queen, with whom he celebrated his 38th wedding anniversary on July 4. He is also survived by sons, Robert L. Queen Jr., and wife, Marticia, of Clinton, and Richard A. Lemons of Hurricane, W.Va.; brother, Paul Queen and wife, Judy, of Clarksville, Tenn.; sister, Betty Frances of Hopkinsville, Ky.; three grandchildren, Adena Harvey and husband Rickey, Jonie Kirby and husband John, all of Milton, W.Va., and Samantha K. Lemons of Hurricane, W.Va.; and three great-grandchildren, Remington McClure, Rickey Harvey and Donovan Kirby. Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Vernon Sansom officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. John Ker Munro, 95, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at the Golden Living Center, Windwood Health and Rehab in Clinton.
