He served as director of the McMinn County Farm Bureau, president of the McMinn DHIA Association, president of the Tennessee Guernsey Breeders' Association, and on the Board of Directors of the National Guernsey Cattle Club. He was also honored with the Gold Clover Award for outstanding 4-H leadership. Mr. Housley judged many prestigious cattle shows from coast to coast and in Australia. He and his sons exhibited three National Grand C! hampions and numerous All Americans in the Guernsey breed. He received the national Dairy Shrine Dairy Cattle Breeder Award in 1984 in recognition of these and other accomplishments.
