    3. UNDERWOOD, MRS. MARGIE - age 80, of the Lancing community, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2007, at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was a life-long member of Pilot Mountain Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Gene Underwood; parents, Will and Pearlie Goodman; brothers, Johnny, Lonnie, Willard, and Dempsey Goodman. She is survived by: her son, Larry Underwood and wife, Mickey; daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy Smith and husband, Gary, and Gail Walker and husband, Sam; grandchildren, Kelly Thorton, Stacey Ridenour, Alicia Pruitt, Emily Gibson, Tim Vespie, and Cale Crouch; she is survived by nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Savannah Garrett and Annie Sexton both of Lancing, Clina Bowling of Rockwood, and Mary Nell Hall of Atlanta. Also several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, November 19th from 6 to 8 P.M. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 A.M. at Pilot Mt. Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Charles Webb and her nephew, Bro. David Goodman officiating. Interment will follow in the Lane Cemetery. The family request memorial contributions be made to Pilot Mountain Missionary Baptist Church. Casey*, age 73, a resident of Hartford Village Way, Kingston, TN passed away Thursday, November 15, 2007 in the Rockwood Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born January 22, 1934 in the Fork Mountain community of Morgan County, TN. Mrs. Casey was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Midtown; was employed in the bakery at Wal-Mart in Rockwood for several years; and was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and devoted friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Ireda Hood; husband, John Casey; daughters, Sandi Fischer and Debbie Markland; son, Keith Casey; and granddaughter, Michelle Markland. [Evans Mortuary, Rockwood] ------------- FREELS, HELEN L., age 86, a resident of Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord, November 15, 2007 at Harriman Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Harriman. Mrs. Freels was born October 15, 1921 in Coalfield. She is a lifelong resident of this area. Helen was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Before her illness she was very involved in church activities including the church choir and teaching Sunday School Class. She was employed as a Avon Field Representative for many years before her retirement. She was preceded in death y her husband, Frank Freels, by her parents, Jess and Viola Sisson Taylor, by a son-in-law, Steve Gerstal Hall, and by a brother, Dean Taylor. Mrs. Freels is survived by two children; Teresa Hall of Oliver Springs and Frank “Butch” Freels, Jr. and his wife Jennie of Paducah, Kentucky. She has three grandchildren, Amanda Moore and her husband Frank of Oliver Springs, Sonny Hall and his wife Rebecca of Harriman, and Jason Freels and his wife Beth of Dayton, Ohio. She has three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Harrison, and Anderson. She is also survived by two sisters, Betty Borum and Faye Vann of Oliver Springs. Additionally she is survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, November 19, 2007 between the hours of 12:00 and 2:00 pm at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow in the church at 2:00 pm with Pastor Garvan Walls, and Rev. Keith Price officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. JAMES WILLIAM, SR., age 89, of the Mossy Grove Community, went to Heaven on Thursday, November 15, 2007, at the Roane Medical Center. He was born on November 6, 1918 in Daysville, TN. He was a charter member and a deacon of Mossy Grove Baptist Church. He was also a purple heart veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents: Andrew Jackson and Bertha Garrett Akins; brothers: Hobert Akins, Charles Akins, Carl Akins, Jess Steelman, and Ed Steelman; sisters: Opal Ashford and two infant siblings; and granddaughter: Phyllis Human Madden. He is survived by wife of 69 years Georgia Hall Akins; son and daughter-in-law: Jimi Akins Jr. and wife, Vickie; daughters and sons-in-law: Jackie Burgess, Jeannia Bowers and husband, Joe, Peggy Wilson and husband, Roger, Bobbie Morgan and husband, Cotton, and Jane Human and husband, O.L.; and their extended families: 13 grandchildren: Connie, Donnie, Misty, Barry, Dustin, Aaron, Leanne, Kelly, Kevin, Joey, Chris, Nicole, and Nathan; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Margaret Prater and Thelma Westcott; many other family members and a host of friends. He was born in Brownsville on Jan. 7, 1922. He had lived most of his life in Oak Ridge. He worked in Research and Development as a Chemical Engineer at the Y-12 Plant for ORNL. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lillian Ramsey Paehler; son, Jerry A. Huckabey and wife, Sharon of Coalfield; grandchildren, Terry Young and Bill of Coalfield and Lora Martin of Knoxville, Jay Huckabey and Stephanie of Clinton, Jeffrey Huckabey and Martin West of Knoxville, Mark and Stacy Justice of Jamestown, John Justice of Coalfield, Jessica and Jeremy Lowe of Oliver Springs, and Kela Broglin of Coalfield; great-grandchildren, Ashley Jones, Nicole and Billy Berry, Sterling, Silver, Jackson, and Kerry Martin, Jesse O'dell, Trenton Woodard, Paige and Jerry Mashburn, Johnathan, Alexander, Elizabeth, and Lillyan Huckabey, Emily, Lucas, and Elijah Justice, and Carter Lowe; great-great-grandson, Ash-ton Jones.
