HANNAHAN, MRS. GENEVIEVE, age 84 of Chestnut Ridge, Tennessee, died Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro. She was born May 26, 1923 along with her twin sister Clella Imogene LaRue, to Clarence and Pearl Atkinson in Clarkrange, TN and was a member of Friends Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Genevieve was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family who adored her and to the Chestnut Ridge Community. Her beloved husband of 57 years, Leon Hannahan, was a teacher and principle of Chestnut Ridge Elementary. Genevieve helped Leon with everything from steak suppers, hayrides, Thanksgiving dinners, fall festivals, volleyball concessions and anything Leon asked her to do. Her favorite saying was "No fools no fun, without me there would be none." Our fun times will not be the same without her but we will cherish our memories as we go forward. She was preceded in death by parents; Clarence and Pearl Atkinson, twin sister; Clella LaRue, sisters; Justine Stowers, Lounell Williams and brother Chester Atkinson.Survived by her husband of 57 years, Leon Hannahan of Chestnut Ridge, Sons: Larry and wife Gail Hannahan of Chestnut Ridge, Terry Hannahan of Clarkrange, Tn. MARIE WALLACE - age 93, of Oakdale, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at the Harriman Care and Rehabilitation Center, Harriman. She was a long time member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church of Oakdale. Marie was born Oct. 29, 1914 in Mart, Texas and moved to Tennessee in 1944. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She also tended the family hardware store in Oakdale. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Floyd Leathers; parents, Felix and Ida Wallace; three sisters and one brother, all of Texas. He was a Christian and was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy on the Destroyer Escort DE 634 USS Whitehurst. He later retired from Rust Engineering in Oak Ridge,TN. After his retirement, he enjoyed farming and all Coalfield sports.
