GUYTON, GENE M. - age 67 of Lake City, TN, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2007 at his residence. Gene was born April 30, 1940 in Lake City to the late Harvey and Helen Elliott Guyton. He was a member of the Clinch River Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a graduate of Clear Creek Baptist College with dual degrees. Before his health began to decline, he served as youth minister, and as Interim Pastor at Clear Branch Baptist Church. His legacy as youth pastor will continue because of his love for, and influence on countless young people in the Lake City area. He participated in the Monday morning devotionals at the local nursing home for many years. He was a charter member of the Friends of the Lake City Library where he provided loyal background support.
