"Bill" Spangler, to whom she was unceasingly devoted for 64 years. They resided happily together on Oakhill Ave. in Old North Knoxville. She was a long-standing member and secretary of Emerald Ave. United Methodist Church and chairman of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Spangler was an educator, having taught 1st and 2nd grades at Norwood and Oakwood Elementary Schools. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee. Before becoming a teacher, she worked at TVA during its formative years. She was a loving mother to her three children, an accomplished baker of German Christmas cookies and a crossword devotee.
