Dorothy Murphy Dorothy Malinda C. Murphy, 63, former assistant medical records librarian at George Washington University Hospital, died of emphysema Saturday at that hospital. A native of Morgan County, Tenn., Mrs. Murphy taught school and worked for the Manhattan Project at Oak Ridge, Tenn., before coming to Washington in 1948. She had retired last year. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Joseph E. Goddard, 1850 Columbia Pike, Arlington, with whom she lived, Mrs. Clyton M. Bostich of Harriman, Tenn., and Mrs. Monroe Cole of Jacksonville; and a brother, John C. Carpenter. Her husband was Joseph Gibbons Murphy of Baltimore.
