ARMES, MRS. CARRIE LEE - of Petros, went home to be with the Lord and rejoin with the many members of her family gone before her on Saturday, July 14, 2007. She went to sleep at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of Petros Baptist Church. She was retired from Lakeshore Mental Health Institute after 23 years of dedicated service. She was the last living member of her brothers and sisters. And as Carrie said, she was the " Last of the Mohicans." She was preceded in death by: her parents: William and Martha Armes; husband: Morgan L. Armes; children: Fred H. Armes, Agnes A Thompson, Morgan (Sooner) Armes, Sidney Armes, Steve Armes, Martha Armes, and Karin (Tate) Trout; brothers and sisters: Harlan Armes, Hardeman Armes, Marvin Armes and Clara Olesky; grandchildren: Chad Anthony Armes, Freddy Armes, and Vincent James Armes. She is survived by: her sons: Billy Armes; Jimmie Lee Armes and wife, Linda; Johnny Armes and wife, Joy; and Joseph Armes and wife, Randi; daughters: Carolyn Armes and Gerilda Armes; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 17th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 18th at Petros Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Jim West and Rev. Waylon Payne officiating. Interment will follow in the Petros Cemetery.
