She and her husband developed, owned & operated C.R. Barger & Sons Construction Company. HELEN - 84 of Knoxville, slept peacefully away, Thursday, July 26, 2007 at her home. She was born March 14, 1923 in Conyers, Georgia to the late James and Eulisha Bates. Helen was a former member of the Mount Calvary Church. In 1966, she joined the Greater Bush Grove Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member and a member of the Mother's Board until her death. Until her health failed, she was a member of the church choir. She attended Austin High School, class of 1941. She was employed at the Clinton Laboratory (now Y-12), then for many years worked at Ruby's Hot Tamale Kitchen and in many private homes. She was a member of the Morningside Birthday Club and a former president of the Walter B. Taylor Homes Tenant Association. She had worked in many elections. CONSOLI, ROBERT PLACIDO - age 68, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Parkwest Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor on January 7th. Jack retired from ALCOA with 40 years of service and was a member of The 25 Year Club. He was the last surviving member of R.P. and Carrie Helton's 11 children.
