    2. >From the Oak Ridger 26 Jul 2007 Grace Mary Esposito, 70, New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Floyd Eugene "Shorty" Weaver, age 79, of Oak Ridge, Jewel Mae Henderson, age 76, of Briceville, Grace Mary Esposito, 70, New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at home July 24, 2007. Grace was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, to the late Clarence and Grace Slaney. She moved to New Smyrna Beach in 1997 after raising her family in Frankfort, New York. She was an avid reader and loved to crochet and knit. She enjoyed life, laughing, working crossword puzzles, volunteering at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, time with family members, and Tara, her pet dog. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Rocky; daughter, Roxanne Tilden, New Smyrna Beach; son, Richard Esposito, Knoxville, Tennessee; son, Dr. Rocky Esposito, Deland, Fla.; sister, Catherine Powers, Edgewater, Fla.; sister, Viola Lundberg, Hull, Mass.; brother, Albert Slaney, Las Vegas, Nev.; brother, Robert Slaney, Seattle, Wash.; brother, John Slaney, Seattle, Wash.; seven grandchildren, Jesse, Veronica, and Eric Tilden; Madelyn and Chelsea Esposito; Caroline and Gregory Esposito; and three great-grandchildren, Morgan, Samantha, and Simon Tilden. A Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. C. Blake Rambo, officiating. Entombment will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater, Fla. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 27, at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129 or St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1650 Live Oak Street, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168. Floyd Eugene "Shorty" Weaver, age 79, of Oak Ridge, passed away Monday, July 23, 2007, at his residence following a short illness. Gene was a lifelong member of Asbury United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Oak Ridge Associated Universities. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret B. Cain and Elmo McAdoo; sister, Hattie V. Preston; and a grandson, Darien Brabson. Gene leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Shirlena; seven daughters, Carolyn Trapp of South Carolina, Gwendolyn (Michael) Kirkland of Oak Ridge, Debra (James) Brabson of Alcoa, Wanda Thomas of Claxton, Imogene (Allen) Moore and Darlene (M.L.) Martin, both of Knoxville, and Sherry Gibson of Oak Ridge; four sons, Lewis (Karen) Thomas of Claxton, Tommy Gibson, Anthony Gibson, and Wayne Gibson, all of Oak Ridge; two brothers, Bobby (Margo) Cain of Nashville, Leonard (Thelma) Cain of Knoxville; sister, Diane (George) Moore, also of Knoxville; brothers-in-law, Charles Fulkerson of Knoxville, Eugene and Buford Gibson; and sister-in-law, Mary Sue Gibson, all of Oak Ridge. He was truly like a father to Michael, LaToya and DeAndre' Gibson. Gene was blessed with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, devoted cousin Betty Wilcox and many close friends, including Pete and Phyllis Vargas. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2007, at Asbury United Methodist in Clinton, with funeral services immediately following with Minister Alan M. Jones officiating. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. Jewel Mae Henderson, age 76, of Briceville, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at her home.
