Mrs. Williams was appointed in November 1936 to serve the unexpired term of her late husband, William Williams, whom she married on November 27, 1904. Mrs. Williams has never before been in public life. Her son Jackie serves as her deputy in carrying on the duties of her office and at the age of twenty is the youngest Deputy Circuit Court Clerk in the state. Since her appointment to public office, Mrs. Williams has increased the circle of her friends to include the entire county. She is the mother of four children: Forest Donald, 31; Mrs. Edna Mae Owens, 29; Raymond Roy, 28; William Jackie, 20; she has six grandchildren: Billie Williams, 9; Winona Williams, 1; John Brown Owens, 4; Eddie Ellis Owens, 2; Audrey Lee Williams, 4; Donald Ray Williams, 2; her hobbies are raising flowers and chickens. She was born at Oakdale, Tennessee, Morgan County, on Sept. 25, 1882, of Welch-German-Irish descent, to Sam N. and Amanda Goldston Honeycutt; paternal grandparents were Allen and Mary Honeycutt; maternal grandparents were Wiley and Alice Sturgeon Goldston. Educated in the public schools of Massey Grove, Morgan County, Tennessee. Member of the Baptist Church; Rebekahs, and a member of the Republican party.
