    3. JOHNSON, ROY L. - age 86 of Kingston, TN passed away Saturday November 13, 2010 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kingston. Member of Hiwassee Lodge #188 F & AM in Calhoun, TN where he was presented a certificate of 50 years service in 1995. W.W.II Army Veteran, serving in the Medical Corps as a surgical tech in the 155th Station Hospital in Japan. He competed his B.S. degree from the University of Tennessee; Knoxville, TN. After graduating, he started teaching at Calhoun School, Calhoun, TN, then receiving his M.S. degree from University of TN in 1956. He served as principal of Oakdale School from 1956-58. He served as Supt. of McMinn County School System and Supt. of Rockwood City School System before being employed by the Roane County School System as Supervisor, where he retired in 1990. Preceded in death by his parents Gary and Etta Graham Johnson; brother Hughie, Wesley, Jarvis and Glen; sisters Narcy Swafford and Inez Everett. Survived by his loving and devoted wife Patsy Stone Johnson of 52 years; children, daughter Terri Jean and husband William Sharp, Jr. of Clearwater, FL and son Roy Stanton Johnson of Lebanon, TN; sisters Parkie and husband Alvin Stephenson of Chattanooga, TN and Opal Mae Kelley of Calhoun, TN; sisters in law Frances Johnson of Lenoir City, TN and Thelma Johnson of Altamont, TN and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Dr. Jerome McKenzie and staff, Dr. Victor Salter and staff, Quality Home Health Care and Avalon Hospice. Funeral 8pm Wednesday November 17, 2010 in the Kyker Chapel with Rev. Charles Kelly officiating followed by a Masonic Memorial Service conducted by Union Lodge # 38 F & AM. Burial 11am Thursday at the Kingston Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, Kingston. Born in 1928, Christine lived a blessed life surrounded by the ones she loved. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Kingston and the Order of the Eastern Star Sunrise Chapter 364. Christine celebrated her 82nd birthday in Heaven with a party hosted by Jesus. Those in attendance were her beloved husband Wilborn Jones, father Hubert Duncan, mother Ester Duncan Harness, step-father Laford Harness, infant son Wilborn Jones Jr., sister Hazel Duncan Stewart, and niece Carolyn Stewart Bradley. She is survived by daughter Vickie Roberts and husband Ed of Midway, her son Steve Jones and wife Karen of Wartburg, Grandchildren Edd Roberts, Jr. and wife Elizabeth, Brody Jones and Samantha Jones, Great-grandchildren Shelby and Sarabeth Roberts, Also several nephews, nieces, outlaws and in-laws.The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, November 24, 2010 at Schubert Funeral Home from 6-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow with Dr. Billy Edmonds officiating.
