BUTLER, MARGARET JEANETTE "CONNIE" age 71, a resident of Oliver Springs, died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Butler was born on the 26th day of March, 1939 in Morgan County. She has lived in Roane County since early childhood. She was a member of the Dyllis Baptist Church, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for her family and collecting recipes. Connie and her husband were the owners and operators of Butlers Grocery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Rebecca Lamance, by sisters; Juanita Franklin, Dale Duncan and Wanda Coleman, by a brother, Leslie Lamance and by a grandson, Matt West.She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert S. Butler, by sons; Bobby Butler and wife, Drema, Randy Butler, Chuck Butler and wife, Rhonda and Dewayne Butler and wife Whitney all of Oliver Springs, by daughters; Debbie West and husband, Tim of Harriman, Mona Miller of Bardstown, KY and Becky Childs and husband, Jeff of Harriman, by 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters; Beulah Coffman and Gleneva Haney both of Oakdale, by several nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends. The family will receive friends Friday, October 1, 2010 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 pm at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Bowman officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 12:00 noon at the Dyllis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be given to the Dyllis Baptist Church of the Dyllis Cemetery. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
