    3. MOORE, MRS. RACHEL RITTER, age 87 of Petros, TN, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the Methodist Medical Center after a courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was born November 20, 1922. Rachel was a member of the Petros Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and working in her flower garden. Mrs. Moore is preceded by husbands; Ray Ritter and Clifford Moore, sons; Herman and Willie Ray Ritter; son-in-law; Robert McLaughlin; parents; Jessie and Christine Duncan; brothers; John, Isaac, Elijah, Clarence, Paul and Noah Duncan; sisters; Ruth Peters and Naomi Peters. Mrs. Moore is survived by sons; Harold (Nola) Ritter of Knoxville and Gary Ritter of Kingston. Daughters; Kathleen (Mitchell) Wilson of Joyner, Linda (Russell) Shields of Wartburg, Christine McLaughlin of Elkins, West Virginia and daughter-in-law; Joyce Ritter of Louisville, TN. Grandchildren; Jim (Tammy) Ritter, Travis Ritter, Kimberly (David) Skinner, Regina (Brian) Messer, Lora Figgins and Bryan McLaughlin. Great-grandchildren; Bailey and Sydney Ritter, Dalton, Wilson and Dawson Skinner; Karsten and Claire Elise Messer; Amber and Faith Figgins; and Kaitlyn and Jessica McLaughlin. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family extends a special thanks to caregivers; Juanall Dezarn, Linda “Rennie” Griffith, Carolyn Langley, Linda Eggers and to Steve McGhee and Joyce Lloyd with Covenant Home Health. Also, our thanks to the staff at Life Care Center in Wartburg for the care they provided. The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 22, 2010 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. with officiating. Interment will follow in the Petros Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents: Father, Charles J. Gregg and mother, Ollie Frances Morgan Gregg; and brothers: Jim (Little Jim) Gregg and Charles (Chuck) R. Gregg. Mary Frances is survived by special niece, Rita Potter and husband, Robert of Lancing; Audrey Clapp of Knoxville; Linda Martin and husband, Jerry and Donna Burke of Kingston; nephew, Michael McDaniel and wife, Diana of Nacogdoches, TX; lots of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and lots of cousins and family. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the Montgomery Cemetery, Lancing. Brother Robert Potter will be officiating. RAY, age 66, of the Mossy Grove Community, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010 at his home. He was a loving father and grandfather, who will be sadly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Cora Clabough; and brothers: Lester and M.L. Clabough. He is survived by his daughters; Kellie Howell and husband, Brent of Knoxville, Emily Strand and husband, Marty of Deer Lodge, and Erin Clabough of Wartburg; son, Neil Clabough of Wartburg; previous wife and friend, Barbara Gaskin; grandchildren: Morgan, Micah, Brandon, Korah, Ruthie, and Darrell; brothers: Larry, Marion, and Gary; sister: Joyce Cinnamon; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Elder Jim Campbell and Elder Roger Campbell officiating. D., age 73, of Sunbright, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, September 16, 2010, at the Scott Country Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leeta Carter McCartt; parents: Pleas and Annie McCartt; Brothers: James, John, Sammy and L. A. McCartt; and sisters: Janie, Emmie and Sally. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Benita and Javad Basij, of Tucson, AZ; son, Curtis McCartt of Sunbright, TN; two granddaughters: Stefanie and Ashley Basij, of Tucson, AZ; brothers: Glen and P.J. McCartt; sisters: June, Betty, Ella, Susie, Gladys, Phyllis, and Eva; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Bro. Doug Morgan officiating. CHARLES E., age 59 of Sunbright, passed away Monday September 13, 2010 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville. He was a deacon and a long time member of Pleasant Ridge Community Church and a former employee of Dicky Justice Chevrolet of Wartburg and was recently employed by Tennier of Sunbright. He was preceded in death by parents; Fred and Willie (Smith) Hammond. Mr. Hammond is survived by sisters: Freda Coffman of Sunbright, and Chris Belicek and husband, George Sr. of Robbins; Brother: Fred Jr. and wife Judy Hammond of Hammond, IN; and several nieces and nephews other friends and relatives. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the Pleasant Ridge Community Church in Sunbright.
