**RUPPE, MRS. MARY RUTH HATFIELD, "MEEMAW",age 82, a resident of the Pine Orchard Community of Morgan County, TN passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 at her home. She was born April 30, 1928 in the Pine Orchard Community to Mason Edwin & Adra Elizabeth Wright Hatfield. Mrs. Ruppe was very active in her church and community. She was a lifetime member of the Pine Orchard Baptist Church where she was a charter member of the Women’s Mission Union, was instrumental in starting a Bible School program, and was active in the Big Emory Baptist Association. Mrs. Ruppe held several positions in the Pine Orchard Community Club; was very active in the Pine Orchard Community Fair; was active in the Home Demonstration Club and the Farm Bureau; served in the Parent Teacher Association and as a “Room Mother” in Morgan County Schools; and taught Head Start for several years in Morgan County. Mrs. Ruppe is known as an avid quilter, gardener, cook, and bread baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Q. “Snip” Ruppe; sisters, Lucy Brooks and Helen Arnold; and brother, Lewis Hatfield. Survivors include: Children & Spouses: William Q., Jr. & Shirley Ruppe, Mary “Jacque” Ruppe, Judy & Dwain Garrell Grandchildren & Spouses: Lisa & Rick Baker, Allen & Rhonda Ruppe, Paula & Richard Powers, Missy & Chris Redmon, John & Sarah Ruppe, Monica & Jeff Hughes, Damon Garrell & fiancé Melissa Booth, Dustin & Megan Miles, and Quentin Garrell & fiancé Heather Harwell Great Grandchildren: Andy Ruppe, Austin Ruppe, Marissa Redmon, Caleb Redmon, Alexis Miles, Ethan Summers, Melissa Miles, Christopher Miles, Jeffrey “Mason” Hughes, and Dustin Miles, Jr. Brothers: W.K. Hatfield & wife, Ruth, Glen Hatfield Sister: Eula Spurling & husband, Jack Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Rev. Charles Kelley and Rev. Kerry Ruppe officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Pine Orchard Cemetery in Morgan County, TN. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oakdale Area Volunteer Fire Department.
