    3. JONES, MRS. FERRIS, age 70, passed away Wednesday July 14, 2010 after a battle with cancer. She is survived by husband, Paul Jones; daughters Beverly and Angela; sisters Faye, Bertie, Doris, Ervielee; and brothers Clay and Reuben Hamby. She was preceded in death by mother, Bertie, and father, Guy Hamby; brother, Chet and Mark Hamby; and sister, Alice. A Memorial service will be held at Schubert Funeral home in Wartburg on Tuesday July 20, 2010, with brother Herb Judkins officiating. [Schubert Funeral Home] ----------------- MABEL WARD Arrangements are pending... ----------------- GRIFFITH, RALPH H., age 81, a resident of Roane County, died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at his home. Mr. Griffith was born in the Fork Mountain Community of Anderson County on the 8th day of February, 1929. He lived in Coalfield until his move to Roane County in 2000. Ralph worked in construction before his disability in 1967. Mr. Griffith served his country in the United States Army during both WWII and the Korean War. While serving he received numerous commendations, medals, ribbons and badges. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and a member of the Kellytown Baptist Church. In addition to loving his family Mr. Griffith also loved the lord, his country, and was a proud supporter of the Tennessee Vols. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Louvetta Mae Griffith, by brothers; George, Charles, Floyd and Robert Griffith, and by a granddaughter Lindsay Griffith. Ralph is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wilma Griffith, by daughters; Marilyn Calfee and husband, Kent and Teresa Jackson all of Kingston and by a son, William Griffith and wife, Cindi of Coalfield, by grandchildren; Brent Sheldon and wife Sammie, Melissa Cooper an husband Craig, Chris Jackson and wife Megan, Misty Love and husband Bert, David Calfee, Aimee Whitford and husband Garrett, Corey Griffith and wife April, and Whitney Griffith, by great-grandchildren; Zachery, Nicholas, Dylan, Emma, Elizabeth, Kevin, Bryce, Kailey, Maci, Ford, and Kenzi. He is also survived by sisters, Louise Morgan and husband Norman of Roane County, Alma Ruth Langley of Byrdstown, Tennessee, and Earlene Justice and husband Kermit of Coalfield, by a brother; Boyd Griffith and wife Renda of LaPorte, Indiana, and by several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Home between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 P.M. The funeral will follow in the funeral home chapel at 8:00 P.M. with Pastor Tommy Hensley officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Estes Cemetery with full military honors. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
