KOONTZ, MR. GEORGE M., JR., age 84, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010 at his home in Petros. He was a veteran of W.W. II, serving in the U.S. Navy as Chief Petty Officer, worked in security division in Oak Ridge, and served as Post Master in Petros for 35 years. He was a member of Black Diamond Lodge of F&AM 0625 for over 50 years, a member of Fraternal Order of Police and RACES Volunteer for Morgan County E.M.A. He was preceded in death by wife, Betty McGill Koontz; brothers: William, Carlton, and Arnold; and sisters: Irene K. Hobbs and Lucille Tipton. He is survived by son, George E. Koontz; wife, Carolyn of Ooltewah; and grandson, Dylan Paris Koontz and wife, Lacey of Ring Gold, GA. JOBY, age 52, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010 at his home in Helenwood, TN. He was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents: Louis and Margarett Seiber Byrge and brother: Louis Byrge. He is survived by sons: Joby Ray Byrge of Helenwood, Jonathan Byrge of Lafollette, and Ronni Poe of Helenwood; daughter: Tonya Poe of Lafollette; sister: Dorothy Snyder of Caryville; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. She was born May 22, 1926 in Lancing, TN, to George and Anna Jane Barnett. Nola was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and sisters, and her first husband, Charles Edwards. She is survived by her daughters, Patti Bunch of Harriman, Vicki Lincoln of Oak Ridge, Melanie Edwards of Wartburg, and Stephanie and Ronnie Melton of Wartburg. She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July13 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. [Schubert Funeral Home] ------------- LOWE, MR. CORDICE LOUIE, age 80 of Devonia, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, was a member of Free Communion Baptist Church, a retired coal mine foreman, and a graduate of Chilhowie Baptist Academy in Maryville. Mr. Lowe loved the mountains and gardening. He took produce to the Farmers Market in Oak Ridge and made many friends there. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and ginsenging. Most of all, he loved his family and was very proud of all of them, often counting all his grandchildren and great, grandchildren.
