    3. GOODMAN, HERMAN ARNOLD, age 74 of New River, passed away surrounded by his family Tuesday July 5, 2011 at his home. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served in the United States Army and later worked as a coal miner for over 30 years, working for several different companies during his career. He was preceded in death by his parents; Finley and Oshia Goodman, Brothers; Fred, Everett, Willie, Early, Kenneth, Johnnie, Delmus and Elmer Goodman. Sisters; Cynthia Jeffers and Claudia McDonald , brother-in-laws; Claude Jeffers and Cledith Bunch. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years; Lou Ann Hensley Goodman, daughters; Gwendlyn and husband Everett Carroll, Chevonne and husband Michael Carroll, Grandsons; Kevin and wife Jessica Hensley all of New River, Michael Carroll and fiancée Christina Koski of Oliver Springs, Granddaughters; Samantha Kennedy and Ashley Carroll, Great-grandson; Kevin Hensley all of New River. Sisters; Nicey Bunch of Clinton, Fredia and husband Willie Carroll of New River, brother-in-law; Kenneth McDonald of Clinton, Sister-in-laws; Ellen Goodman of Clinton and Kay Winniham of Oklahoma, Special sister-in-laws; Billie Jo and Bernice Goodman of New River, Also several nieces, nephews and a very special friend; William Seiber of New River. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, July 7, 2011 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 6-8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Friday at his home in New River after 12 noon, Funeral services will be Saturday July 9, 2:00 p.m. at Free Communion Baptist Church with Rev. Luke Ward and Rev. John Seiber officiating. Interment will follow in the Phillips Cemetery with Military Honors. [Schubert Funeral Home] ------------------ ROBERTS, MR. PERRY, age 88 of Stephens, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday July 6, 2011 at Methodist Medical Center Oak Ridge. Perry moved from North Carolina to Tennessee to work for Geannette Lumber Company, later known as Georgia Pacific. He was a hard working logger who enjoyed being outdoors. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife; Aileen Roberts, Brothers; Jesse, J.V., Silas, Paul and Floyd, Sisters; Callie and Uenavive, daughters-in-law; Edna and Teresa, Parents; Love and Nancy. He is survived by his wife; Wendi, brother; Earl of North Carolina, Sons; Dolman and wife Bonnie, Bernie and friend Pam of Coalfield, Ed and wife Vickie of Midway, David and wife Sandy of Kingston, Tommy and wife Carolyn of Coalfield and James of Coalfield. Grandchildren; Ed, Randy, Brian, Ben, Thomas, Brad and Amanda, Great-grandchildren; Matt, Dalton, Shelby, Sara Beth, Drake, Ashlyn, Kaylee, Addison, Eli and DeLana. Also several nieces, nephews, friends and other family.
