    3. HAMMOCK, MR. ARVEL (COWBOY) LEE, SR., age 66 of Lancing went to be with the Lord June 23, 2011 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents; Jackson Brock and Stacie Hammock, grandson; Michael. He is survived by his wife; Faye Hammock of Lancing, Son; Steve and Rank of Lancing, Allen and wife Wendy of Knoxville, Arvel Lee of Lake City. 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, Brothers; Glenn Hammock, Leon Craig, Sister; Jane Trammal and special friends Dan Kirby and Cecil “Jr” Hawn. Also a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, June 25 at New Vision Church from 6-8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Sunday, June 26, 8:00 p.m. at New Vision Church. Graveside services will be Monday, June 27, 11:00 a.m. at Smokey Junction Cemetery with Military Honors. [Schubert Funeral Home] -------------- LOWE, HERMAN WILLIAM "BARNEY", age 76, a resident of Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, while surrounded by his loving family at Methodist Medical Center. Barney was born December 28, 1934, in the Wheat Community of Roane County. At the age of 7 he and his family moved to Oliver Springs where he has continued to live. He graduated from the Oliver Springs High School in 1952. While in high school he played football and through the years he continued to enjoy and support the Oliver Springs School Football Program. He was a great sports enthusiast who enjoyed almost all sports activities and he loved fishing. Barney was a well known Oliver Springs businessman, a heavy equipment operator who along with his brother, Ralph Lowe, owned and operated Lowe's Excavating. Mr. Lowe never met a stranger and he enjoyed conversation with all that he met. He was a larger than life man who loved to laugh and tell tall tales. He was a faithful Christian and a dedicated member of the Mineral Springs Baptist Church. He proudly served as chairman of the Mineral Springs Baptist Church Deacon Board. He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle "Bunch" Lowe and Derry Lowe, by a sister-in-law, Carrie Lowe and by a precious friend, Chuck Whicker. He is survived by the love of his life, his beloved wife of 56 years, Barbara Bowling Lowe, by daughters; Myrtle Mae Lowe of Oliver Springs and Robin Lowe Hamby and husband, Mike Hamby of Lancing, by grandchildren; Travis Hamby of Lancing, Jessica Hamby Nelson and husband, Jason of Wartburg, Melanie and Emily Randolph of Oak Ridge, Lynn Randolph and Dean Russell of Clinton, Kevin Randolph of Briceville, Ethan, Kayden and Kennedy Randolph of Knoxville and Blake Thomas of Oak Ridge, son-in-law, John Lynn Randolph, brother-in-law, Howard Bowling, and sister-in-laws, Dixie Hoskins and Ruby White. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Ann Sylvia and husband, William of Oliver Springs, by a brother, Ralph Lowe and wife Jean of Oliver Springs, by a aunt, Dollie Greene of Oak Ridge, by special friends; Harold and Mary Kate Smith of Batley and Rev. Clyde and Retha Bass of Oliver Springs and a host of other relatives and friends. The greatest joy in his life was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. His family is looking forward to the day when they can join him again in heaven. The family will receive friends Friday, June 24, 2011, between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Luke Kidwell officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mineral Springs Cemetery. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
