MR. WALTER ARLO, age 84 of Oakdale, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Shannondale Health Care Facility, Knoxville. He was a member and trustee of Piney Baptist Church and a former Sunday School Teacher and R.A. Leader. He was a World War II veteran, a retired machinist with Y-12, member of Lodge 680 for 50 years and was a Post Master, and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was also an avid outdoorsman and was dedicated to his family. He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Ida Mae Eble; brothers: Ira and Jimmy Eble; and daughter, Susan Ann Eble. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris Ann Eble; daughter and son-in-law: Melinda and Jeff Harwood; and granddaughter, Megan Ann Scott. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 22nd, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Bro. Pat McGee and Bro. Jim Disney officiating. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Piney Church Cemetery, Oakdale. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimers Associatio. She was a member of Union Baptist Church of Joyner. She was preceded in death by parents: Jim and Lacey Woods; husband, Hobert Wilson; son, Hobert Wilson, Jr.; brothers and sisters: Luther Woods, Ruth Woods, Walter Woods, Glen Woods, and Noah Woods. She is survived by sister, Katy Woods of Joyner; granddaughter, Chasity Wilson; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 22, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Homer Hooks officiating.
