DYER, ROBERT "BOB", of Coalfield, formerly of San Diego, CA, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011. He was born on the 31st day of July, 1931 in Winona, TN. Mr. Dyer was a member of Big Mountain Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. He retired from General Dynamics Space Systems Division in San Diego, CA. Mr. Dyer was preceded in death by his parents, Author and Opal Dyer, a brother, Ethridge "Eddie" Dyer, a sister, Cora Lee Vaughn and by a infant sister. He is survived by his loving wife, Alma Liles Dyer. They celebrated 57 happy years together on May 15, 2010. He is also survived by a daughter, Vicki Cocherl and husband, Marc of Oak Ridge, by grandchildren; Robert Curry of Torrance, CA, Steven Fraley of Sevierville, TN, James Fraley currently serving in Afghanistan, Crystal Fraley of Barstow, CA and seven great-grandchildren. He participated in the following organizations; Horseless Carriage Club of America, San Diego Regional Group, Past President, San Diego Antique Bottle Club, Foothills of the Ozarks Antique Car Club, Antique Automobile Club of America, Walden Ridge Antique Car Club, Disabled American Veterans, National Group, Disabled American Veterans Tri-County Chapter # 26, a member of the Coalfield Genealogy and Historical Society, the Oak Ridge Elks Lodge # 1684 and the Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 26, 2011, between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 pm at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Coffman officiating. Burial and graveside services with full military honors will be held Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Roane Memorial Gardens. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
