    3. RUSSELL, BONNIE - of Coalfield, daughter of the late Mae Walls Thornton and Wade Thornton, passed away on December 8, 2010. She was a lifetime member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Bonnie loved her community and the people who live there. She was employed in the Coalfield School for many years before her retirement. She was known as Miss Bonnie to the many children she worked with over the years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her generosity to others unsurpassed; life, to Bonnie, was never about herself. She was constantly thinking about others, even during her illness. She was a caretaker throughout her life. Widowed at a young age, she became the caretaker of both her mother and grandmother. She was always happy with the simple life she lived. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, and her influence will live on in the hearts of many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Willis H. Russell, who was killed in action in World War II at the age of twenty-one; her brothers, Wade H. Thornton, Jr. and Carl Thornton; and a special nephew, Richard Thornton. She is survived by a daughter, Melba McKeethan and her husband, Tim; two granddaughters, Janene Browder and her husband, John; Heather Burnett and her husband, Brian; three great-grandchildren, Laura Browder, Andrew Sullivan and Ethan Burnett; sister, Wilma Crowder; special sister-in-law and nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 11, 2010 between the hours of 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Coalfield. The funeral will follow in the church at 2:00 pm with pastor James Foster officiating. Burial and graveside services will follow at the Estes Cemetery in Coalfield. He was a member of Boswell Chapel Baptist church, Oakdale and was a graduate of Oakdale High school. He worked for many years at the Harriman Utility board. Mr. Cochran was preceded in death by grandparents; Frank and Sarah Cochran, Elbert and Etta Goad all of Sunbright area, nephew; Clay Cochran of Crossville. An avid outdoorsman, Brian touched many lives with his smile, outgoing personality and kindness. He was a beloved and devoted husband, father and son. Mr. Cochran is survived by wife of 36 years; Becky Powell Cochran of Oakdale; daughters, Laura Wolfe and husband Tim of Knoxville. Sam A, a native of Wayne Co., KY, was a very respected teacher in Fentress and Morgan (TN) Counties, school principal in Sunbright, Morgan Co., TN, and served as Mayor for the town of Oneida, Scott Co., Tennessee in 1927-1929). One of my husband's sisters was named for Sam A's wife, Teal or Telie. If you have a picture of her it would be much appreciated if you would share it.     3. JOHNSON, ROY L. - age 86 of Kingston, TN passed away Saturday November 13, 2010 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kingston. Member of Hiwassee Lodge #188 F & AM in Calhoun, TN where he was presented a certificate of 50 years service in 1995. W.W.II Army Veteran, serving in the Medical Corps as a surgical tech in the 155th Station Hospital in Japan. He competed his B.S. degree from the University of Tennessee; Knoxville, TN. After graduating, he started teaching at Calhoun School, Calhoun, TN, then receiving his M.S. degree from University of TN in 1956. He served as principal of Oakdale School from 1956-58. He served as Supt. of McMinn County School System and Supt. of Rockwood City School System before being employed by the Roane County School System as Supervisor, where he retired in 1990. Preceded in death by his parents Gary and Etta Graham Johnson; brother Hughie, Wesley, Jarvis and Glen; sisters Narcy Swafford and Inez Everett. She was born on October 11, 1925 in Massachusetts to Joseph and Anna Belanger. She was supported and loved by the church family at St. Ann Catholic Church Lancing where she put into practice her deep faith and trust in God. Laura Pemberton was preceded in death by her best friend and husband of more than fifty years, Ralph C. Pemberton; her brothers, Oscar Belanger and Roland Belanger and his wife, Angelina; sister, Doris Foley; sister, Edna Boucher and her husband, George. She is survived by her four children: Wade Pemberton of Orlando, Florida, Lynn Ann Pemberton of Deer Lodge, Paul Pemberton and wife, Susan of Covington, Tennessee, Jane Lampley and husband, Dearl of Ethridge, Tennessee.     3. MALENOVSKY, MRS. RHONDA SUE YOUNG, "GRAM", age 59 of Harriman, passed away Saturday November 13, 2010 at Roane Medical Center after a long battle with MS and RA. She was currently at Harriman Care and Rehab Center recovering from a hospital stay. Mrs. Malenovsky enjoyed scrap booking, making greeting cards and jewelry for family and friends, HGTV and especially doing crafts with her grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oakdale. She was preceded in death by father: Herbert J. Young She is survived by her husband of 42 years: Edward Gregory Malenovsky. He was a member of the International Association of Mechanics and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. He was a member of Middle Creek Baptist Church. Ed had many interest including, water skiing and boating, traveling, golfing and he was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Braden and Nina Jett Braden Reed, by his step-father, James A. Reed and by a brother, Harold Braden. Jerry was an active, lifetime member of Middle Creek Baptist Church where he served as Trustee and Custodian. Jerry was a graduate of Coalfield School and Carson Newman College. He was self-employed, where he owned and operated Quality Supply for over 30 years along with other business interests. He never met a stranger, always had a smile on his face, and could be counted on to make you laugh as well as a helping hand when needed.
